Let's Face It, 'Ghostbusters III' Isn't Happening and It's Probably a Good Thing

Ghostbusters III, which has been in development since the late 90s, has been delayed again, according to The Hollywood Reporter. We reported two weeks ago that the movie was set to film this summer, but the latest news is that the Ghostbusters III won't be ready until "fall at the earliest." After nearly two decades of delays on this project and news that Bill Murray won't be involved, I think it's time to throw in the towel on rallying for a new Ghostbusters, everybody on the internet. Bill Murray Shows Up at the Scream Awards in Full Ghostbusters Regalia

Presumably, Reitman will be working from a script by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder/Idiocracy/Men in Black 3), [...]

'Ghostbusters 3' Has a New Writing Staff

At this point, the journey to make a third Ghostbusters movie can be the subject of a movie itself. Sure, it would be a documentary probably entitled "Ghostbusted" but a movie nonetheless. As the video above suggests, a new team of folks is taking a crack at the long awaited sequel. There's no word yet on who these writers are but I wouldn't be surprised if the next draft involves Ray scientifically signing a bunch of skulls filled with a mysterious liquid that turns them into ghosts.
