Jay Pharoah Confirms Jason Sudeikis's 'SNL' Exit on Twitter

While it was officially announced last week that Bill Hader and Fred Armisen were leaving Saturday Night Live following this weekend's season finale and each of them received their own goodbye sketch, Jason Sudeikis is expected to depart too but the news isn't official yet. Fellow cast member Jay Pharoah revealed via Twitter yesterday morning that Sudeikis is leaving, writing "Hader, Armisen & Sudekis the talent of those three and just them as people in general will be missed but we will be strong and carry on.." Pharoah quickly deleted the tweet after posting it, which is a little weird, but it's archived on Favstar where it will live [...]

The 'Office' Wrap Party Was This Weekend, and It Was Awesome

The Office's series wrap party went down in Scranton, PA on Saturday, and in case you missed the news, it included ten thousand fans and a glorious surprise attendance by Steve Carell. As Splitsider’s resident Pennsylvanian, I had some dippy eggs and scrapple then immediately made the trek to the Electric City to check out the home of Dunder Mifflin and pay homage to one of my favorite shows of all time. Here’s a recap of the day complete with cast member photos and video clips:

'SNL' Writer Colin Jost on How He Wrote Kristen Wiig's Farewell Sketch

"I started [on SNL the same season as] Kristen [Wiig], and she came in as the one new female cast member and was great from the beginning. But it’s surprisingly rare that you know that a cast member is leaving, and until they really say they are, you always hope that they’re going to come back. So you never want to write a farewell for someone who might come back."

- SNL writer Colin Jost to Entertainment Weekly, giving the rundown on preparing Kristen Wiig's memorable "She's a Rainbow" goodbye sketch.

Greg Daniels Reveals More Details of 'The Office's' Final Season (Including a Possible M. Scott Return)

Greg Daniels dropped a bombshell yesterday but instead of having a bomb inside of it, it had the news that The Office will be ending this season. Vulture caught up with him to ask about what's to come. Here is a bit of what we came expect:

"David Wallace sent Andy to Outward Bound training over the summer to make him more decisive and confident, and he decides while eating bugs on solo to aggressively go after Nellie and hound her out of the office … Jake Lacy and Clark Duke will play two guys in their twenties, Pete and Clark,  who are hired to go through [...]

George Lopez Says Goodnight

Last night was Lopez Tonight's final episode, and while you know George Lopez is a millionaire and probably has offers rolling it from across the universe, consider my tears jerked. "When they asked me to do a talk show, I wanted it to be inclusive, and I wanted it to be fun," Lopez said in his farewell speech. "So right now I'd like to ask the camera people to take one shot of this audience and show you how inclusive this show has always been." The audience, all in Lopez shirts, lost their shit. In addition to giving a shout-out to Sandra Bullock, Lopez was joined for [...]

Fred Armisen Is Leaving 'SNL' Too, Jason Sudeikis "Probably"

Following Tuesday's news that Bill Hader is leaving Saturday Night Live, it looks like the show is losing at least one big cast member (if not two) following this weekend's season finale. An NBC source tells The Post that veteran cast member Fred Armisen is departing and that Jason Sudeikis will probably go, as well. Armisen has been at SNL for 11 seasons and Sudeikis for 8. Seth Meyers expected to leave in the middle of next season (December) to take over Jimmy Fallon's duties hosting NBC's Late Night, the show sure is losing a lot of cast members over the next few months.

With Hader, [...]

The '30 Rock' Finale: Goodbye Forever, You Factory Reject Dildos

Well, those bastards did it. Those magnificent bastards did it. In a world where the desire to make well-crafted, self-aware comedy can turn into a pressure capable of crushing the final product (right? that's not just me?), 30 Rock turned out a truly wonderful conclusion to seven wonderfully bizarre seasons.

Now, obviously I don't have to tell you that the reason 30 Rock is/was the comedian's sitcom was because you could see Tina Fey’s influence in every aspect of the show. That’s the dream about having your own show, right? People just immediately know it’s yours. Having read her book approximately a trillion times, I'm always tickled when I [...]

The Final Season of '30 Rock' Begins Tonight; Here’s All the Internet’s Best '30 Rock' Stuff from Today

The first episode of the 30 Rock’s final, 13-episode season airs tonight at 8/7c on NBC, and the internet’s going bananas. Here’s a rundown of all the cool 30 Rock stuff from today. First off, here's a supercut of every terrible TGS sketch mentioned on the show ever.

Alec Baldwin dropped a major bombshell about the show on Twitter:

Five Reasons Ricky Gervais Deserves to Die

Just kidding! This is my goodbye post. I'll be taking off after today for other, sadly less wearing-pajamas-all-day work opportunities. It's been an honor covering your comedy news, and even if things got a little uncomfortable sometimes, I think we all had fun. I'm sure I'll be back 'round these parts, and until then you can find me in your hearts by closing your eyes and silently reciting a terrible pun three times (or just find me on Tumblr and Twitter). Special thanks to Frucci for the title of this post and for generally being the coolest boss around. [...]

John Stamos, Jenny McCarthy Attend Two And A Half Men Pervert Funeral

Meeeeeeeeeeen! In celebration of the life and libido of Charlie Sheen's soon-to-be-deceased Charlie Harper, John Stamos and Jenny McCarthy will be among the guest stars bidding their adieu at the Two And A Half Men funeral. For the show's season premiere, McCarthy will return as one of Harper's many, many, many, many ex-girlfriends, while Stamos reportedly appears as the other M in one of Charlie's epic MMF three-ways. Just exactly the people you'd hope would turn up at your funeral.

Bill Hader Is Leaving 'SNL' After 8 Years; Last Episode This Saturday

After eight seasons as a cast member, Bill Hader is leaving Saturday Night Live. Hader tells The NY Times, "It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point. It got to a point where I said, 'Maybe it’s just time to go.'" In the Times announcement, Lorne Michaels recalls a young Bill Hader reminding him of Dan Aykroyd. "In terms of intelligence and talent, he was in that same tradition. He was so completely committed to the art of it and enough a student of it that there’s something strikingly original. He didn't explode onto the air, but gradually he found his voice, and [...]

The Cast of '30 Rock' Says Goodbye on Jimmy Fallon

30 Rock has just three weeks left before it ends its run, and Jimmy Fallon had the core cast – Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer – on his show last night to discuss the show and to say goodbye. Fallon ditched his desk to just sit around with the gang and chat like Oprah, and you can watch the rest of the show after the jump, which also includes Tracy Morgan covering a Boyz II Men song.

Brian McCann Is Leaving 'Conan'

In 1995, Brian McCann was hired to be a writer on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. For the next 17 (17!!!!) years, he helped define Conan's Late Night and Tonight Show and eventually Conan. John Ross Bowie writes on his blog that this is his last day with Conan. We wish him the best. Below are some videos from throughout years. Hope Deon Cole can fit in a giant, dirty candy cane suit.

Goodbye, Robert California

We loved you dearly, Robert California. Or, we loved you dearly in last season's finale and then we slowly grew to be a little confused by your character throughout this season? Either way, James Spader will be leaving The Office at the end of this season, having "always wanted this to be a one year arc," according to Paul Lieberstein. The Office is getting emptier, what with the potentially imminent departures of Mindy Kaling and Daniel Chun, and then there's that Dwight spinoff…The end of an era is nigh, friends.
