NBC announced today that Vince Vaughn will be hosting the April 13th edition of the show, with one-name R&B singer Miguel serving as musical guest. The next new episode is set to air on April 6th with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Phoenix. The April 13th episode is only Vince Vaughn's second time hosting SNL. He last hosted a whopping 14 years ago in late 1998, which is a really long time ago as evidenced by the fact that he was hosting to promote that Psycho remake he starred in and that Jimmy Fallon was brand new then.
Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz will host SNL on February 16th, with Southern rock band Alabama Shakes as musical guest. It's the first time on the show for both Waltz and the band, and the show will come just a week ahead of the Oscars ceremony, where Waltz is up for Best Supporting Actor for his part in Django. Alabama Shakes recently received three Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, for their acclaimed debut album, Boys & Girls. Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson has just been tapped by MTV to be the host of the network's 22nd annual MTV Movie Awards next year. The ceremony is set to air on April 14th and sees the trend of MTV using a comedian to host the awards show continue. Russell Brand hosted last time and was preceded by Jason Sudeikis, Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Mike Myers, and Sarah Silverman before him. Newly-minted movie star Melissa McCarthy is returning to SNL next month, Us Weekly reports. This will be McCarthy's second time hosting the show. Her first was last season in October of 2011. She'll be hosting the April 6th installment of the show. A musical guest has yet to be named. McCarthy's next movie, The Heat, a buddy cop comedy starring her and Sandra Bullock, was set to premiere on April 5th before the studio pushed the release back to June 28th. Young person Justin Bieber has been hinting about hosting SNL on Twitter the past week, and now, Billboard has confirmed that he's set to be the host and musical guest for the show's Feburary 9th episode to promote his new acoustic album. This will be Bieber's second appearance on the show after serving as musical guest on an episode hosted by Tina Fey in 2010. Zach Galifianakis is returning to SNL. It was announced on air on this Saturday's episode that the comedian will host the show's next new episode on May 4th with Icelandic folk/pop group Of Monsters and Men serving as musical guest. This will be Galifianakis's third time hosting after doing so previously in 2010 and 2011. Prior to becoming a movie star, he served as a guest writer for SNL for two episodes in 2000. One of the most popular recurring SNL hosts of recent years is returning to the show next month. Justin Timberlake, who's previously served as SNL host four times, is set to do it again on March 9th (and also double as musical guest), joining the show's esteemed Five-Timers Club. Timberlake will be spending a lot of time in 30 Rock this March, as he's also appearing as a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for an entire week (March 11-15th) following his SNL episode.
