Adam Carolla Sued for the Second Time in One Week

On Tuesday, we reported that wildly-popular podcaster Adam Carolla's company had been sued over a podcast patent dispute, and now, news come in that "The Ace-Man," as he prefers to be called, is adding another lawsuit to his plate. Carolla is being sued by former business partners Donny Misraje, Kathee Schneider-Misraje, and Sandy Ganz, who are claiming that Carolla broke their partnership agreement and failed to pay them for the work they invested in the business and rewards they deserved once said business became profitable. Donny Misraje is Carolla's ex-producer who convinced him to move to podcasting after his radio show was canceled in 2009. Misraje and [...]

Jay Leno Causes Diplomatic Incident With Throwaway Slideshow Joke

Big week for NBC late night hosts getting sued for unexpected reasons! The Bol Punjabi All Regions Community Organization is suing Jay Leno and NBC after Leno showed a slide show in which he joked that Mitt Romney's summer home was the Sikh holy shrine Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. The suit claims the joke "exposed Sikhs and their religion to hatred, contempt and ridicule because it portrayed the holiest place in the Sikh religion as a vacation resort owned by a non-Sikh." India's foreign ministry has also lodged a formal complaint with the State Department. I guess it's possible that Jay Leno really has it in [...]

Adam Carolla's Company Sued Over Podcast Patent Dispute

A patent licensing company called Personal Audio LLC has issued lawsuits to Adam Carolla's ACE Broadcasting and HowStuffWorks.com, two of the biggest podcasting entities in the game, in a patent infringement case, 9to5Mac reports. The patent in question, which was issued last year, is for a "system for disseminating media content representing episodes in a serialized sequence," and the result of the lawsuit will certainly have a big impact on the booming podcast industry. Personal Audio has had success with these tech patent lawsuits in the past, winning $8 million from Apple in a 2011 case and entering licensing agreements with Sirius, Motorola, Samsung, Archos, Coby, RIM, and Amazon  after [...]

Jimmy Fallon Is Being Sued for "Gender Bias" Against Men

Jimmy Fallon and NBC Universal are being sued for discrimination by Paul Tarascio, a former Late Night stage manager. Tarascio claims that he was fired in 2010 and replaced with a "less qualified" and "totally incompetent woman" due to Fallon's "gender bias." Huh. Well, uh…late night TV hosts aren't often accused of being anti-men in their hiring practices, so this is something of a first. Bright side?

Louis Vuitton Is Suing Warner Brothers Over The Hangover Part II

Isn't it weird to think about the lives of people who spend all day, every day focusing on executing idiotic lawsuits like the one Louis Vuitton has served Warner Brothers with over Zach Galifianakis using Louis Vuitton luggage in The Hangover Part II? I wonder what they dreamed of being as children.

SNL and Andy Samberg Accused of Song Thievery

A music production team in St. Louis is suing Andy Samberg for using the music for Shy Ronnie, the SNL digital short featuring Rihanna. I assume the entirety of the courtroom proceedings will be autotuned. Also, have the accusers even considered that maybe Andy Samberg was just too shy to ask for the rights? I know, I know, and yes, Samberg can retain my legal services for this case. Although, he's being sued by people whose stage names are Rick the Rular and Foxx StarStrukk, so he may need to find a lawyer who has practice dealing with ALIENS FROM OUTER SPACE.
