The Best of Stephen Colbert's Hobbit Week

Last night, America's #1 biggest Tolkien geek Stephen Colbert wrapped up "Hobbit Week," four nights of The Hobbit-related programming with guest appearances by the movie's cast and crew on The Colbert Report. Entitled "The Pundit: Or Colbert and Back Again," Colbert's Hobbit coverage involved him interviewing Sir Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, and Peter Jackson, wielding an elvish blade and smoking from a wizardly pipe. 'The Colbert Report' Will Celebrate "Hobbit Week" Next Week

Noted Tolkien nerd Stephen Colbert is celebrating the release of Peter Jackson's new Hobbit movie with a theme week on The Colbert Report next Monday through Thursday, according to Entertainment Weekly. The Report's "Hobbit Week" will feature a different guest from the movies each night: Sir Ian McKellen (Dec. 3), Martin Freeman (Dec. 4), Andy Serkis (Dec. 5), and Peter Jackson (Dec. 6), all in advance of the movie's Dec. 14th release. Have you ever noticed that in all of his roles, Michael Cera ends up running? Here's a great piece from the Believer in which the particular brand of nerd Cera tends to play is tied into the act of running. It's worth reading! For all his running, never once is Cera chasing anybody.
