Lena Dunham and Judd Apatow to Chat It Up on 'Iconoclasts' Tonight

Tonight at 8pm on the Sundance Channel's Iconoclasts, a show in which two famous people chat about being famous and such, Judd Apatow and Lena Dunham are sitting down to talk shop/Girls. Normally the celeb pairings are from different fields, like the upcoming episode with Seth McFarlane and Norah Jones. It's not clear why they broke the format a bit here to have collaborators together, but hey, we'll take it.

Fox Unveils Its Fall Premiere Dates

NBC did it last week, and now it's Fox's turn to unveil their fall premiere schedule. Fox isn't taking as many big chances with their fall lineup schedule, nor are they spreading things out across three months like NBC. But they are holding the premiere of The Cleveland Show until October 7th, which I'm sure will upset at least some people. In any case, here are the full details:

Futurama Returns to the Present on June 20th

Good news, everyone! Futurama is returning to Comedy Central for its new season on June 20th, when it kicks off with two new episodes at 10pm. My suggestion: stock up on wine, food, and vomit buckets and have a Hedonismbot-approved viewing party.

Comedy Bang! Bang!, Portlandia, & More News From the IFC Upfronts

Whew, that Bunk preview was only the beginning. The IFC upfronts yesterday yielded all manner of programming information, from release dates to new shows to previews big and small. Above is a preview of Comedy Bang! Bang!, which premieres with Bunk on June 8. The upfronts also verified that there will be a third season of Portlandia in January 2013, with two half-hour specials to tide us over until then – the first of which, Portlandia: The Brunch Special, will air this summer. We already knew about Maron, and January 2013 will also see the premiere of Out There, an animated show about three boys [...]

Portlandia Will Be Coming Back for a Third Season

Huzzah! Carrie Brownstein confirmed today that Portlandia will be back on IFC next year for a third season. Will they go back to the 1790's this time around?

That Unaired 'Happy Endings' Kickball Episode Will Be Broadcast Eventually, Don't You Worry

There's still one unaired episode from the latest season of Happy Endings, one that series creator David Caspe called "one of my favorites of the season." It's about kickball, and why it still hasn't been aired is kind of a mystery. Well, it aired in the UK. And now it's going to screen at LA's Outfest on July 22nd. But if you aren't going to that and aren't British, it looks like it'll be treated as an episode in the upcoming season. So hold tight, you'll get to see Adam Pally doing his best Bad News Bears Walter Matthau eventually.

'The Daily Show' to Cover the Republican Convention from Tampa

Those poor souls at The Daily Show are doing what few sane New York liberals would dare to do: spend a week in Tampa at the Republican National Convention. They'll be broadcasting from America's shameful dangler from Tuesday, August 28 through Friday, August 31. They'll also be broadcasting from the DNC in Charlotte from Tuesday, September 4 through Friday, September 7, as previously announced.

Tonight's Happy Endings Season Finale Isn't Really the Season Finale

Here's an odd bit of info from this lengthy and well-worth-reading interview with Happy Endings creator David Caspe over at Vulture: tonight's season finale is not actually the last new episode of the season. There's one more that's still to air "sometime in the next month or so." It's "sort of a stand-alone episode" and will have "no effect on any serialized type of storytelling." That's weird, but I'll take it.

Weeds Returns For Season One Million (Okay, Eight)

The annual winner of the That Show Is Still On? Prize, Weeds, is coming back for season eight on July 1. May it stay on for 20 more seasons that you only watch because "this has gotta be the last one."

FX Is Putting A Lot of Eggs in the June 28 Basket

Louie, Wilfred, Charlie Sheen's Anger Management, and Russell Brand's Strangely Uplifting will all premiere on FX on the same day, June 28. Here are some things that could go wrong with this programming strategy:

- a nationwide power outage on June 28

- Charlie Sheen and Russell Brand strike up a huge beef in May when Charlie and Katy Perry are seen canoodling at a club, forcing the viewing public to choose sides and not watch the enemy's show

- someone really, really famous (Oprah?) dies on June 28 and everyone's too busy looking at Twitter to watch TV

- cable installers schedule a union strike [...]

Todd Barry Is Going Super Crazy for an Hour on Comedy Central

Set them DVRs: Todd Barry's new hour-long special for Comedy Central, entitled "Todd Barry: Super Crazy," premiers on Saturday, July 21 at 11:00pm. I assume based on the title that this is the special where Todd really lets loose with his famous array of big, over-the-top characters.

NBC Schedules the Final Three 'Community' Episodes of the Season on One Night

Community was already set to have a two-episode season finale scheduled back-to-back, but now NBC has gone and shoved a third episode on the same Thursday — May 17th. The somewhat awkward schedule is as follows: 8:00 Community — “The First Chang Dynasty” 8:30 30 Rock season finale 9:00 Community — “Introduction to Finality” 9:30 Community — “Digital Estate Planning” (season finale)

While shoving multiple episodes of the same show into one night is usually a sign of a network looking to burn off episodes of an unwanted show, it doesn't appear to be the case here. Instead, NBC is pushing all of the new Community episodes into [...]

Adios for Now, I Hate My Teenage Daughter

Fox has removed I Hate My Teenage Daughter from its schedule, effective immediately, after its ratings sank even further downward this week. But it'll be back this summer, so angry, hate-filled parents don't need to form a "We Hate People Who Hate I Hate My Teenage Daughter" support group just yet.

Community Heads to Comedy Central and Gillian Jacobs Revisits Reddit

Comedy Central will start airing repeats of Community in 2013! Great news for the small but powerful cabal trying to brainwash the rest of the world into loving the show. Wait, I've said too much.

In other Community news, Gillian Jacobs just can't keep away from Reddit. Her latest AMA goes into detail on the origins of the "Me so hungy" dance and the time Chevy Chase wandered onto the set of J. Edgar. In other words, it's a must read.
