New 'Vacation' Movie Runs Into Problems Surprisingly Not Caused by Chevy Chase

A new Vacation movie scheduled to shoot this summer has been delayed indefinitely, and, to the surprise of everyone, noted difficult person Chevy Chase is not the root of the problem. THR reports that shooting on the film, which is set to star Ed Helms as grown-up Griswold spawn Rusty taking his wife (Christina Applegate) and kids on a road trip to Wally World, will be delayed at least a few months – possibly until late this year. The reason for the difficulties is creative differences caused by a split between those who want the movie to be R-rated like the original and those who want a broad PG-13 [...]

Meet Your New 'Best Week Ever' Cast

On January 18th, VH1 is reviving Best Week Ever, its series in which comedians recap and riff on the week's pop culture happenings. The original show ran from 2004 to 2009, giving a national audience to funny people like Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Pete Holmes, Paul F. Tompkins, Nick Kroll, Doug Benson, and more, at earlier points in their careers. The new incarnation of Best Week Ever will feature an entirely-new cast (with appearances from old favorites sprinkled in), and VH1 has just announced the new cast. It's an eclectic cast of talented stand-ups, including Michelle Buteau, Michael Che, Pat Dixon, Jared Logan, Pete Lee, Amanda Seales, Dan St. Germain, [...]

A reboot of the National Lampoon's Vacation franchise centered around son Rusty Griswold and his family has been in development for a years, and now, the film's directors have revealed to Collider that Vacation will be filming this summer with Ed Helms starring as Rusty. Studio to Roll the Dice on a 'Jumanji' Reboot

Sony is looking to reboot Jumanji. [15 minutes later] Now that you stopped laughing uncontrollably, here are more details, they're looking to reimagine and update it. [10 minutes later] Finished? I feel like this means it's going to be about a videogame this time around because everything is a video game nowadays. (Stupid video games. Get off my lawn!)

'Arrested Development' 2.0 Is "Very Different" and Won't Feature Everyone at Once

Creator Mitch Hurwitz spoke to USA Today this week about the new season of Arrested Development and revealed some more details about how the show will look when it debuts a new run of original episodes on Netflix this spring. Each of the 13 to 14 episodes (it seems like Netflix and the folks behind the show still haven't decided exactly how many episodes they're making) will focus on a single character, with Hurwitz revealing that Jason Bateman's Michael Bluth is the only character who appears in every single one of the new episodes. "The show will look very different," Hurwitz explains, calling the new season a "very, [...]

Ed Helms Is in Talks to Reboot 'Vacation' as Rusty

Presumably because Anthony Michael Hall and Ethan Embry were too busy, Ed Helms is in discussions to play the role of an adult Rusty Griswold who sets out to take his own family on a shenanigan-filled vacation. The film was written and will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Sam Weir, himself!) No word if Clark is involved in the trip but you know Chevy Chase is going to love playing a grandfather. (Yes, I am being sarcastic. He will hate it.)
