You don't see the mayor of Philadelphia shilling for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Mayor Quimby hasn't once used his political capital to get The Simpsons more nominations. The same goes for whoever is the mayor of Pawnee, Indiana. Mayor Sam Adams's message is clear: Vote for Portlandia and they'll pickle that vote. How do you pickle a vote? I don't know; cider vinegar? It's Portland, they'll figure out something.
