'Always Sunny' and 'The League' to Premiere on 10/11/12

FX announced its fall schedule, so thankfully we'll have some answers when our less frequent blog reading friends ask us: "When does Always Sunny and The League return?" The answer: October 11, 2012 or to be more catchy with it "10-11-12." Like last year, they'll air at 10:00 and 10:30pm respectively. Unlike last year, they'll be followed by a revamped version of BrandX with Russell Brand. Hopefully, revamping means it will be just be another episode of Sunny or The League.

FOX Reveals its Predictable New Schedule

As the first place network, FOX is different place than NBC and their predictable schedule suggests as much. Tuesday becomes their night of sitcoms, with the only somewhat comedic Glee moving to Thursdays. Raising Hope moves to 8:00, which is perfect for its family focus, and the hotly anticipated The Mindy Project goes right where it should be at 9:30, post New Girl. There isn't much to discuss, as it’s a pretty safe schedule. Check it out below. What do you think? Are these your go-to Tuesday plans?

Ummm, So, CBS Announces Their Fall Schedule

Not to be all like, "CBS's schedule – woof," but CBS's schedule – woof.  The "big news" is they moved Two And A Half Men to Thursday nights at 8:30 so you better start figuring out if you're going to watch it or Up All Night. Oh, you're just going to DVR 2.5 Men? And then you're going to light your DVR on fire? Well played. 2 Broke Girls moves to 9, making it harder to accidently watch after How I Met Your Mother. Partners, the show about a straight guy and a gay guy who are pals, is the only new comedy. Check out the schedule below and [...]

Let's Talk about Friday-night 'Community' and Dan Harmon's Lack of a Contract for a Minute

First, let me say, I love what NBC is trying to do. They could have easily cut costs by surrounding The Voice with reality and competition shows, but they are going with real television shows, some with very distinct voices. And I love them moving Community to Friday, at least I do conceptually and only if the bring Dan Harmon back, who currently/ominously remains unsigned for next year.

Though, it's hard to get a sense if the Friday move should be interpreted with a dread or enthusiasm. Currently, there are conflicting messages behind the decision. NBC bossman Bob Greenblatt told Deadline:

“There is an opportunity for comedy on [...]

ABC Announces Schedule; 'Happy Endings' Moves to Tuesday

There is a Tuesday at 9:00pm situation.  The best new comedy of two years ago (Happy Endings), last year (New Girl), and maybe this year (Go On) are all set to go up against each other. ABC announced today that Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, are leaving their cushy post-Modern Family slots for Tuesday nights. Happy Endings is the best and the funniest thing ever, and the move does suggest that ABC believes in it, but it's still nerve-wracking. The Neighbors slips into that slot and gives Wednesday nights a complete family focus. Also, ABC announced they are looking to revive TGIF by moving [...]

NBC Offers Up Their New Schedule and Clips from Their New Comedies

Yesterday was officially Mother's Day but, when NBC announced its projected fall lineup, it felt more like Christmas. How about another analogy? Sure. Upfronts are like the NFL Draft, they mark the end of one season and the start of the next, but its still be months before anything plays out. So what does NBC's draft class look like? If comedies were offensive lineman, than NBC drafted like a lot of right guards. We had reported that they picked up a zillion (or seven) new sitcoms but it's still interesting to look at. If you include SNL, NBC has comedic programming five nights a week, which [...]
