Watch Jen Kirkman Do Stand-Up on 'Conan'

Here's Jen Kirkman doing her second-ever stand-up set on Conan last night and finally giving married people the intervention they deserve.

Watch Nate Bargatze Do Stand-Up on 'Conan'

Here's comedian Nate Bargatze on Conan last night, telling what I'm assuming is the funniest McDonald's story you'll hear all week, unless your life is chock-full of hilarious McDonald's stories or something.

Kristen Schaal's New Comedy Central Special Premieres Tonight at Midnight

The very funny Kristen Schaal has a new hour-long stand-up special debuting tonight at 12am on Comedy Central. The only reason not to watch is out of respect for Schaal, who's been doing a bit where she says she's disappointed with how the taping went and discourages people from watching it interviews and a series of tweets.

Chris Rock Won't Self-Release His Next Stand-Up Special

Chris Rock was a guest on The Champs podcast this week, and the topic of self-released stand-up specials came up. Rock, who has released all four of his specials on HBO, explained why he prefers the old model of debuting a special on cable as opposed to the $5 DIY Louis C.K. method:

"I probably won't [self-release]. It's crossed my mind … The thing about HBO or Showtime or Comedy Central or whatever: not only people get to see you that want to see you, people get to see you that don't want to see you. When you put it out yourself, only your fans see it, so you're [...]

Watch Jerry Seinfeld Do Five Minutes of New Stand-Up on 'The Tonight Show'

Jerry Seinfeld debuted a new five minutes of stand-up on Letterman a month ago, and he did it again last night on Jay Leno, probably because of late night equal time laws.

Tig Notaro Is Releasing an Expanded Version of Her Largo 'LIVE' Set

Record label Secretly Canadian announced today that they're releasing an expanded CD version of Tig Notaro's acclaimed Largo performance from last year, during which she discussed her cancer diagnosis and a number of personal tragedies that had befallen her during that year in an emotional, raw, and funny set. The performance achieved acclaim from Notaro's peers Ed Helms (who called it "One of the most amazing stand-up sets I've ever seen"), Bill Burr ("made me feel like I was an open miker. Absolute genius!"), and Louis C.K. ("in 27 years doing this, I've seen a handful of truly great, masterful standup sets. One was Tig Notaro last night [...]

The 'Nerdist' Podcast Releases Its Annual 'Stand-Up Cluster'

The Nerdist podcast just released its annual Stand-Up Cluster, a collection of performances from some of the best up-and-coming comedians. The medium of podcasting is so perfectly built for releasing stand-up that it's a wonder this yearly special and Put Your Hands Together are some of the only stand-up podcasts out there. Nerdist Stand-Up Clusters from previous years have featured the likes of Kumail Nanjiani, Pete Holmes, and Matt Braunger before they broke out. This year's special, which you can listen to here, features Ali Wong, Dan Telfer, Mark Little, Beth Stelling, Maronzio Vance, Aparna Nancherla, Ryan Singer, and Ron Funches, many of whom you'll hear of in [...]

There's a New Richard Pryor Box Set on the Way

Shout Factory is releasing a new Richard Pryor boxset that features new material (and plenty of old material), The AV Club reports. The set, titled No Pryor Restraint: Life in Concert drops June 11th and features two whole hours of previously unreleased stand-up, along with stuff that has been released like albums Live On The Sunset Strip and Bicentennial Nigger. No Pryor Restraint contains seven CDs and two DVDs, and AV Club has an exclusive audio clip from it that's just as filthy and funny as you'd expect a secret Richard Pryor recording to be.

Eddie Pepitone on Jerry Seinfeld's Act: "With All Due Respect, It's Quite Superficial"

"I think stand ups who have something to say are interesting … The lineage of Lenny Bruce to George Carlin to Richard Pryor to Bill Hicks. Not Jerry Seinfeld, let me put it that way. He talks about why pizza is stuffed with cheese in the crust. I’m not saying that doesn’t have its place, but with all due respect, it’s quite superficial. But a lot of people like that milquetoast stuff."

- Eddie Pepitone (The Bitter Buddha, WTF with Marc Maron) to IFC on the comedians that do and do not inspire him.

Watch Eugene Mirman Do Stand-Up on 'Conan'

Eugene Mirman returned to Conan last night to do a stand-up set, and most importantly, to answer some audience questions and to kick off what I'm assuming is his new career direction as an advice-giver to weird 22-year-olds.

Watch Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong Perform Together at an Open Mic in 1998

Here's video of Hangover bros Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong performing together during a Los Angeles open mic in 1998. I bet that MC knows how to pronounce "Galifianakis" correctly now (maybe).

'Workaholics' Star Adam DeVine Is Hosting a New Stand-Up Show for Comedy Central

Comedy Central has a new stand-up series on the way. Titled Adam DeVine's House Party, the show will be hosted by comedian Adam DeVine, who also stars in the hit show Workaholics for the network. Comedy Central has yet to officially announce Adam DeVine's House Party, but they've begun advertising live tapings via Facebook that'll be taking place in LA over the next two weeks, beginning today. The show will be a mix of stand-up and narrative sketches hosted from a house party in the backyard of DeVine's mansion. House Party will become Comedy Central's fourth current stand-up series, joining John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show, [...]

Watch Emily Heller Do Stand-Up and Be Funny at the Same Time on 'Conan'

Here's NYC-based stand-up Emily Heller making her debut performance on Conan last night and doing a great job. In addition to stand-up, Heller is the star of the new Above Average Network web series The Future, in which she gives comedians psychic readings, and she's also a top-notch Twitterer, which is totally a real word now.

Jim Gaffigan on Doing Clean Comedy: "I Sometimes Feel Like It's an Asterisk Next to My Success"

"'Clean' and 'family-friendly' are supposedly these positive attributes. But I sometimes feel like it's an asterisk next to my success … Maybe I'm being sensitive. I just want to be known as funny. I mean, when you hear about a family-friendly restaurant, you know it's going to be horrible."

- Jim Gaffigan, who doesn't use swear words onstage, talking to The Wall Street Journal in a piece on his squeaky-clean act, with quotes from fellow clean comedians like Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Jerry Seinfeld, and without any quotes from Brian Regan for some reason.
