Throwing a House Party with Adam Devine

Part sitcom, part standup showcase, Adam Devine’s House Party might be difficult to describe, but it’s a fun hybrid.

Mensch that he is, Devine created the show in part to give the up-and-coming comedians who perform on it a chance to display their acting chops. The show features short written scenes interspersed between standup sets, and for many of performers Adam Devine's House Party is their television debut.

Season one was set in a gaudy Los Angeles mansion, but in Season two the party has moved down to New Orleans for even more debauchery.

I recently had the chance to talk to Devine about the upcoming season, his love of [...]

Comedy Central Renews 'Adam DeVine's House Party' for Season 2

Comedy Central has renewed its newest standup show, Adam DeVine's House Party. The network has given a second season order to the series, which debuted on October 24th. The new season will be eight episodes and will premiere in 2014. Hosted by Workaholics star/co-creator Adam DeVine, House Party is a standup showcase with a narrative element that features three comedians each episode. "What’s cool about the new generation of standups is they’re making internet videos, and they’re doing improv, and a lot of them are, across the board, really funny people," DeVine told us in an interview last month. "I kind of wanted to do something that showcases their [...]

'Comedy Bang! Bang!' Has the Most Amazingly Star-Studded Crew

Comedy Bang! Bang! returns again next week with the second half of its season, and host Scott Aukerman thought it was about time we got to meet some of the show's inimitable celebrity crew. Sometimes, show business really is glamorous.

Comedy Central has yet to officially announce Adam DeVine's House Party, but they've begun advertising live tapings via Facebook that'll be taking place in LA over the next two weeks, beginning today. The show will be a mix of stand-up and narrative sketches hosted from a house party in the backyard of DeVine's mansion. House Party will become Comedy Central's fourth current stand-up series, joining John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show, [...]

Other comedians set to appear throughout the 10-episode season include Kurt Braunohler, Nikki Glaser, and Erik Griffin.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Are Producing a Movie with the 'Workaholics' Guys

Seth Rogen's production company Point Grey is teaming up with legendary producer Scott Rudin to produce a movie that will star Workaholics' stars Anders Holm, Adam DeVine and Blake Anderson. Holm will write the script, and Workaholics co-creator and co-star Kyle Newachack will direct, but the film will be entirely unrelated to their Comedy Central show. Point Grey is made up of Rogen, his frequent co-writer Evan Goldberg and their producer partner James Weaver. Holm, DeVine, Anderson and Newachack have worked together for years as part of the sketch troupe Mail Order Comedy.

DeVine gave these details about the upcoming film to Splitsider a couple weeks ago:

Yeah, we’ve written a script that [...]

Adam DeVine from 'Workaholics' to Be a Recurring Guest Star on 'Modern Family'

Following appearances on Community and Arrested Development, Workaholics star/co-creator Adam DeVine is set to guest star on another big TV comedy: Modern Family. Vulture reports that DeVine will appear in several episodes of the ABC sitcom's upcoming fifth season, playing a nanny hired by Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vegara). In addition to his busy movie and TV schedule, DeVine recently shot a new Comedy Central standup show, Adam DeVine's House Party, that features 24 of his favorite comedians – spread across eight episodes – performing at a big party at his mansion.

Talking to the 'Workaholics' Guys About the New Season

Since premiering in 2011, Workaholics has picked up more and more steam as one of today's most smartly written shows starring some of TV's dumbest characters. Beyond the writing though, the secret ingredient to Workaholics is the real-life friendship between creators/writers/directors/producers Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson – a chemistry that earned them a double-season renewal last year. Ahead of tonight's Season 4 premiere, we talked with the Workaholics gang about how their show has evolved, how they come up with fresh ideas, and their extended thoughts on Justin Bieber.

Talking to Adam DeVine About 'Workaholics', His New Show, and the Joys of Voicing a Cartoon Slice of Pizza

While one would think there's not much left for somebody to accomplish after popularizing the phrase “tight butthole,” Adam DeVine's career is only just getting started. After launching into the comedy spotlight on the hit Comedy Central sitcom Workaholics – which he co-created with fellow Mail Order Comedy members Blake Anderson, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck – DeVine has since landed roles on Community and Modern Family, appeared in a couple commercials, and had a memorable turn as egomaniac Bumper in the a capella musical comedy Pitch Perfect.

DeVine even managed to find enough time away from writing and filming the upcoming fourth season of Workaholics to host his [...]

Watch a Full New Episode of 'Comedy Bang! Bang!' Season 2 Featuring Sarah Silverman

The new season of Comedy Bang! Bang! doesn't kick off on IFC until July 12th, but you can preview one of the new episodes right now. Featuring guests Sarah Silverman, Joe La Truglio and Adam DeVine, it is just as insane and hard to describe as any other episode of the show. I've always said that a nice way to ease into the weekend is being confused and amused at the same time, so this should make a good Friday afternoon watch.
