If you're a huge fan of the shortly lived '80s television series Manimal, then today is your lucky day. Deadline reports that Sony Pictures Animation is teaming up with Jimmy Miller (The Other Guys, Step Brothers) and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions to adapt the cult series into a live action/animation hybrid feature, with Key and Peele EPs Jay Martel and Ian Roberts onboard to write. It looks like Paul Rudd's Anchorman director Adam McKay is now out of the running to replace Edgar Wright on Marvel's Ant-Man. According to Variety, McKay met with Marvel on Friday but ended up passing on the project. "And yes, met w/Marvel," McKay confirmed on Twitter late Friday night. "Kirby & Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I'm committed to. Not sure it can work."
If the rumored directors up for consideration are accurate, this leaves We're the Millers' Rawson Thurber and Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer as the last comedy directors in the running to replace Wright. According to [...]

Adam McKay, who directed both Anchorman movies and co-wrote them with Will Ferrell, said in an interview with Empire that the Anchorman series is over. Here's what he said:
"It’s done. I think that’s it. It was great to do it and it was so fun to work with those guys again, but I think that’s it for Ron Burgundy … No, that’s the last sequel we’re gonna do. There’s nothing more fun to me than new characters and a new world. And now we’re releasing this alt version, we’re totally satisfied. No Anchorman 3."
