Worst Heckler Ever: NYPD Tells Adam Newman to "Shut the Fuck Up" in the Middle of His Set

It's been nearly two years since standup Adam Newman pulled a bag of cocaine out of a heckler's coat, but his latest video — no matter how unplanned it was on Newman's part — certainly tops that event and then some. Here's the description Newman offered along with the clip: "I SWEAR I don't want to be the comedian who only posts heckler videos. But sometimes the NYPD busts in while you're on stage trying to make a late night submission video, arrests an audience member, then tells you to, 'Shut the fuck up!' And what are you supposed to do, not post it?"

Adam Newman on His Beginnings in Comedy and His New Comedy Central 'Half Hour'

Adam Newman wants you to know that his new Comedy Central half-hour special, which airs Friday, contains what he hopes is the longest diarrhea joke in televised history. The Brooklyn-based comedian’s episode of The Half Hour airs this Friday, and the special has always been his main goal as a standup. Along the way, he’s appeared on John Oliver’s New York Standup Show, released his first album, and made his Letterman debut last year.

I got the chance to talk with Newman about how he did a 45-minute set for his first time doing standup, Last Comic Standing, and poop jokes, among other things.

Adam Newman Becomes the Second Comedian This Year to Find Cocaine on a Heckler

Earlier this month, L.A.-based stand-up Jake Weisman was heckled during a performance and invited the heckler up, only to have him accidentally drop cocaine on stage in front of the entire audience. A video of the set went viral before mysteriously disappearing from YouTube. Now, NY comedian Adam Newman was heckled in this video and put on his heckler's jacket while he went to the bathroom, only to go through the pockets and find – you guessed it – a bag of cocaine. So, this is a trend now, and I think it's safe to assume at this point that all hecklers are on coke.
