Adam Scott's Next 'Greatest Event in Television History' Will Be 'Hart to Hart' with Amy Poehler

Last October, Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott debuted The Greatest Event in Television History, an Adult Swim special in which he and Jon Hamm recreated shot-for-shot the opening credits sequence to cheesy '80s detective show Simon & Simon. Scott has a second Greatest Event special, which was previously reported to star him, Amy Poehler, and Horatio Sanz, set to air June 6th, and TV Guide reveals today that the new special will see Scott and Poehler recreating the intro to the 1979-1984 series Hart to Hart, in which they'll take on the roles of Jonathan and Jennifer Hart, a millionaire and his wife who become amateur detectives. Horatio [...]

Adam Scott Has Another 'Greatest Event in Television History' with Amy Poehler Out June 6th

Last year, Adam Scott created an 11-minute TV special for Adult Swim called The Greatest Event in Television History, in which he and Jon Hamm recreated the title sequence to the cheesy '80s detective show Simon & Simon, shot for shot. Scott revealed last night on Jimmy Fallon that he has a follow-up special set to premiere on Adult Swim June 6th and that it'll star himself, Amy Poehler, and Horatio Sanz. Scott said they'll be recreating a title sequence from an hour-long show but wouldn't reveal which one, explaining, "I can't say what it is because of very strict rules that I made up."

Annabeth Gish Will Play Ben Wyatt's Sister on 'Parks and Rec'

We're gonna meet more of Ben Wyatt's (Adam Scott) family on Parks and Recreation later this year. After Jonathan Banks and Glenne Headly were introduced as his bickering parents earlier this season, Entertainment Weekly reports that actress Annabeth Gish (The X-Files, Mystic Pizza) has been cast as Ben's sister and will make her debut in an episode sometime this spring. The episode in question involves Ben and Leslie taking a road trip to his hometown, Patridge, Minnesota. Keep in mind that Ben Wyatt was briefly the 18-year-old Mayor of that town before bankrupting it to build a winter sports complex called Ice Town. I'm expecting Ben's hometown [...]

So, What Was 'The Greatest Event in Television History'?

Adam Scott has been teasing his mysterious new Adult Swim special The Greatest Event in Television History for weeks now via a series of Twitter pictures and TV ads, but last night at midnight, we finally got to see what all the hype was about. The 11-minute special (embedded in its entirety above) also stars Scott's longtime friends Jon Hamm and Paul Rudd and is a mockumentary about the trio collaborating to recreate the opening credits to the cheesy 80s detective show Simon & Simon, shot-for-shot starring Scott and Hamm. The special ends with the actual full-on rereation of the Simon & Simon intro.

Adam Scott and Jon Hamm Team Up for Adult Swim’s ‘Greatest Event in Television History’

Good-looking funny guys and real-life bros Adam Scott and Jon Hamm are starring alongside each other in a mysterious 15-minute Adult Swim special, called The Greatest Event in Television History, premiering at midnight on October 11th. Scott co-directed the special with Lance Bangs (Loiter Squad, Jackass) and offered this cryptic explanation to Entertainment Weekly: “We are reconstructing a piece of television history.” Scott has been mum about exactly which classic TV moment he’s remaking for the special, but he has tweeted out three pictures (see below) which don’t make things any less confusing. Here’s hoping it’s an elaborate green-screen re-enactment of those “Whassup?” beer ads.

Adam Scott in Talks to Replace John Cusack in 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2'

Adam Scott may be the new face of the Hot Tub Time Machine franchise. When a sequel to the 2010 time travel comedy was announced in January, stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke were onboard but leading man John Cusack was not. Now, The Wrap reports that Parks and Recreation and Party Down star Adam Scott is in negotiations to play the sequel's lead character, a totally different character from Cusack's. Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink is returning and co-writing the script with Corddry, who didn't have a hand in writing the original. Although John Cusack was fine in the original, Adam Scott [...]

Adam Scott Named His Production Company "Gettin' Rad" Because It's the Worst Name

Here's Adam Scott on Conan last night, talking about the new, totally real company he started with his wife, Gettin' Rad Productions, a name they picked because it's a terrible name. Scott runs through some other awful name options, but the company's "tiger with sunglasses" logo is so good it can make any of these names work.

Scott Aukerman Finally Explains the Origins of Harris Wittels's Beloved "Jack from the Lumberyard" Character

"Harris Wittels… asked if he could debut sort of an anti-comedy character. The character was 'Jack From The Lumberyard,' and what he wanted to do was play this character and actively try to never say anything funny… which is really difficult as a comedian, because your natural timing takes over, and even if you’re not saying anything funny, the timing can be funny. So it was a really interesting choice for him to try to do something that was never funny and never interesting. That was the other part of it: It could never be interesting… he was talking to Adam Scott at Parks and Recreation, where Harris is a [...]

Adam Scott Promises 'The Greatest Event in Television History' Will Be Very Important

Adam Scott's new TV special The Greatest Event in Television History, which also features Jon Hamm, is airing tonight at midnight on Adult Swim, and Scott has taken to the airwaves to add even more hype to a program that already has the most self-aggrandizing name in television history. It's a tall order comparing the show to The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, Dallas' "Who Shot JR?", and um, the California Raisins, but one thing's for sure: Adam Scott and Jon Hamm are men of integrity and wouldn't lead us astray.

Harris Wittels’s Fancy Celebrity Friends Don’t Have Time for Him and His New 'Humblebrag' Book

As if Harris Wittels wasn’t already putting all other 20somethings to shame with his busy career as a standup, sitcom writer (splitting his time between Parks and Rec and Eastbound and Down currently), musician, and podcast personality, he can now add “author” to his overflowing resume. His new book, Humblebrag: The Art of False Modesty, hits the shelves today. It’s based on his wildly-popular Twitter feed @humblebrag, where he’s been retweeting people’s falsely-modest Twitter boasts to much acclaim. Wittels wrote and starred in this new Funny or Die trailer for the Humblebrag book, and the trailer’s a little bit of a humblebrag itself as it shows him [...]

Adam Scott Is Sick of Hearing About the Golfer Adam Scott

Following an Australian golfer named Adam Scott winning The Masters golf tournament, Parks and Rec star Adam Scott made a surprise appearance on Conan yesterday to beg people to stop joking about how they have the same name. Looks like Adam Scott needs to start a Jon Daly/John Daly campaign.

Adam Scott Trash-Talks Amy Poehler

"Before every take of a new scene, whenever we’re starting a new scene, she has a really weird process she goes through: She needs complete silence, and she has to have all the lights in the building turned off, which is really inconvenient because there’s a whole crew working, and all of the actors are trying to work. But we need to turn all of the lights out. So it’s pitch dark, while she, quote, moves into the space of her character. But, you know, whatever gets you there; it’s fine. And so we all support her, and it’s her show, so we’re all just going to have to keep doing [...]

Adam Scott and Wife Launch Production Company, Will Make Three More Adult Swim Specials

Parks and Rec star Adam Scott and his wife Naomi Scott, a former Jimmy Kimmel Live producer, have just opened their own company, Gettin' Rad Productions, and have signed on to produce at least three more 11-minute specials for Adult Swim. The Scotts' first production was The Greatest Event in Television History, an Adult Swim short that debuted Thursday and quickly became a monstrous viral success, racking in over 100,000 views on YouTube and over 60,000 on the Adult Swim site in less than a week plus grabbing an impressive 1 rating in the 18-49 demo during its Adult Swim airing. The duo created and produced Greatest Event [...]

Amy Poehler Calls Working with Adam Scott "A Challenge"

“Adam [Scott] has this technique which is really cool, which is when the camera’s on me and I’m talking to him, he turns around and makes me deliver the lines to the back of his head. And also when I do it, he shakes his head no. It’s a challenge because it makes me be like, ‘Right, right, I guess I’m not really delivering.’ It’s those little things that for some people make him seem like a total just terrible person to work with. But for me it’s a challenge."
