CW Renews 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' for Third Season

The revived Whose Line Is It Anyway? is getting another season on CW. According to THR, the network recently announced that they've renewed the improv game series — with original performers Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, and Ryan Stiles and host Aisha Tyler — for another 24-episode season to premiere sometime in summer 2015. This makes the third season of the revamped Whose Line and the eleventh season overall, counting its runs on ABC and ABC Family from 1998-2007.

'Whose Line' Revival Is a Big Hit for the CW; Watch the First Two Episodes Online Now

The CW network's choice to reboot the short-form improv game show Whose Line Is It Anyway? turned out to be a smart one. The back-to-back premiere episodes that aired last night earned surprisingly high ratings. The show got a 1.1 rating for adults 18-49 (meaning that an estimated 1.1% of households with TVs were watching). That doesn't sound like a lot of viewers, but the show scored a bigger audience than any original show for NBC or ABC this summer and was The CW's highest-rated premiere since its series Arrow last fall. If these ratings keep, I wouldn't be surprised if The CW renewed Whose Line for the regular [...]

Weird Al dropped his first Mandatory Fun music video today for "Tacky," which turns out is a parody of Pharrell's hit single "Happy." It includes a bunch of great comedy people happily dancing around while dressed up in awful neon getups too.

Contenders for 'Late Late Show' Include Michael Ian Black, Joel McHale, and Amy Schumer

While Stephen Colbert's appointment as David Letterman's successor went down in record time, THR reports that the hiring process to replace Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show won't be nearly as easy or fast of a process. There are a bunch of names reportedly being considered by CBS for the gig right now: former Late Late Show contenders Aisha Tyler and Michael Ian Black (who both guest hosted the show before Ferguson got the job), Joel McHale, Daily Show regulars Jason Jones and John Hodgman, and wildcard pick Amy Schumer, who recently made a memorable appearance on Late Show with David Letterman. CBS Entertainment chairman Nina [...]
