This 'Anchorman 2' Gag Reel Gives the Movie a Run for Its Money

Here's the Anchorman 2 gag reel, which features Will Ferrell making pretty much all of his cast mates laugh, Paul Rudd losing it over a line about Ferrell pleasuring himself to Mrs. Butterworth, Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig laughing at their own jibberish skills, and a literal cat fight. Considering the caliber of comedy talent involved here, it's a shame this gag reel can't be expanded into a full-length movie of its own.

Adam McKay Says 'Anchorman' Is the Type of Thing He Would Have Gotten In Trouble For Writing at 'SNL'

Will Ferrell has certainly been making the rounds as Ron Burgundy to promote the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,  and now director Adam McKay is talking more about the long awaited sequel. In an extended editing room interview on Collider, McKay and his editor Brent White talked about making their longest film ever (the first cut was 4.5 hours), why Seth Rogen is useless in a test audience, and not over-using Steve Carrell's Brick character:

He’s definitely the Harpo Marx of the team in the sense that he has no rules whatsoever to him.  He can step out of scenes.  He can comment on scenes.  He can look at [...]

'This Is the End' and 'Anchorman 2' Earn MTV Movie Award Nominations

MTV unveiled their list of Movie Awards nominees this morning, and because MTV is fond of including a bunch of silly categories like "Best Shirtless Performance" and "#WTF Moment," the comedy world had a much bigger presence on the list than the typical awards show. Both This Is the End and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues scored four nominations, including for cameo scenes from the Rihanna and the Backstreet Boys (This Is the End) as well as Anchorman's Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Kanye West. The Best Comedic Performance category has only one lady — Melissa McCarthy for The Heat — paired with Jason Sudeikis (We're the Millers), [...]

Ron Burgundy Gave Some Life Advice and Sang for Rob Ford on 'Conan'

Ron Burgundy was on Conan last night to promote his new memoir, Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings, and he was a very enlightening guest. He gave some tips for surviving a prison riot, shared the secret to his amazing hair, ranked all the creatures in the animal kingdom, completely undid all his good work as Dodge's spokesman, and even sang a tribute to his friend, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. In short, the perfect talk show guest.

'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R Rated Version' Is Coming February 28th

During his visit to Jimmy Fallon on last night's Tonight Show, Will Ferrell confirmed the news that on February 28th, an alternate R-rated version of Anchorman 2 will hit theaters for one week. The film will be notably longer than the 1 hour, 59 minute original and include a whopping additional 763 more jokes. Writer/director Adam McKay — who teased of the alternate Anchorman 2 idea back in October — released the following statement when the film was announced:

When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I [...]

Adam McKay Wants to Make a PG Movie About Ron Burgundy's Dog and Son Having Adventures

Anchorman director/co-writer Adam McKay talked about a surprising new project while promoting the upcoming sequel. He wants to make a G or PG-rated family film following Ron Burgundy's dog Baxter and his son Walter, who appears in the trailers for and is introduced in Anchorman 2, and he has a studio interested. Here's what McKay said to Collider:

I want to know more about what [Baxter]’s doing when he’s not around them. I want to shoot a whole adventure. Maybe you guys can help with this, we actually talked about the idea of doing … the adventures of his son, Walter Burgundy, and Baxter.  And I actually pitched [...]
