Here's a Spoiler-Filled Look at the 'Anchorman 2' News Brawl

Anchorman 2 is currently filming in Atlanta, and The Daily Mail snagged a bunch of pictures from the set during the filming of the movie's inevitable news anchor brawl. Click through to the post if you want to see 17 pictures of the scene, most of which spoil big-time cameos, none of which I'll reveal here. It looks like it's about 1000x crazier than the news fight in the first Anchorman and should make for a pretty delightful scene.

Greg Kinnear and Josh Lawson Will Also Be in 'Anchorman 2'

Anchorman 2 has added two more  actors to its jam-packed cast: Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear and Australian House of Lies star Josh Lawson. There's no word on who Kinnear and Lawson are playing or how sizable their roles are. No official synopsis has been released, but the Anchorman sequel will see Ron Burgundy and his news team dealing with competition from the 24 hour news cycle and increased diversity in the field in the late '70s. Kinnear and Lawson join a cast that includes original Anchorman stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner, plus newcomers Kristen Wiig, Harrison Ford, James Marsden, Dylan [...]

John C. Reilly Will Be in 'Anchorman 2'

Details on Anchorman 2 have been scarce so far, but the website Bleeding Cool picked up on a casting call for a stand-in from an agency in Atlanta, where the movie begins filming this week:

Do you look like John C. Reilly? We’re seeking a caucasian male, 6’2″, any age. THIS SHOOTS TOMORROW, FEB 28th. Please submit your stats and 3 photos to TeachMan2ATL@gmail.com with the subject line JOHNNY DOUBLE.

It's pretty reasonable to presume that, if production is looking for a John C. Reilly lookalike, they're using John C. Reilly. It looks like Reilly's part in the film may be a small one, as the stand-in [...]

Kristen Wiig Officially Signs on for 'Anchorman 2'

Anchorman director/co-writer Adam McKay tweeted last night that Kristen Wiig is officially on board for the sequel. This comes after word that Wiig was in negotiations for a role in Anchorman 2 back in December. Wiig will play the love interest of Steve Carell's dense weatherman Brick Tamland. So far, she's the only new cast member to officially sign on to the movie, joining returning stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner. Production is set to begin next month for a December 20th, 2013 release. Adam McKay said a few months ago, "We're talking about for Anchorman 2 creating a murderer's row [...]

Kristen Wiig Might Play Brick Tamland's Love Interest in 'Anchorman 2'

Kristen Wiig is in negotiations for a role in Anchorman sequel, according to The Wrap. Wiig would potentially playing the love interest of Steve Carell's knucklehead weatherman Brick Tamland. Will Ferell and Adam McKay are still writing the script to Anchorman 2, which is set to begin production in March and to release in October 2013. Wiig has worked previously with Anchorman 2 producer Judd Apatow on Bridesmaids and in supporting roles in his other movies. So far, Wiig is the first and only new (potential) cast member to be announced, with only the original news team (Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner) being [...]

'Anchorman 2' Adds Three Big-Name Actors to Play Small Parts

Production on Anchorman 2 is still underway in Atlanta, and The Hollywood Reporter, um, reports that three big-name actors have joined the cast for cameos or small parts. We'l refrain from spoiling the cameos, but two of the actors played small parts in the previous movie, while the other is an Oscar winner who wasn't in the original Anchorman. Click through to the above link if you want to read the cameo spoiler and continue to ruin the movie for yourself, piece by piece.

Jon Stewart Practices His Sandra Day O'Connor Interview on Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd went on The Daily Show yesterday to promote his new movie Admission with Tina Fey, and his facial hair was all grown out for Anchorman 2, which is filming right now. Instead of asking Rudd about either movie, Jon Stewart took the opportunity to practice his Sandra Day O'Connor interview for tomorrow and Paul Rudd rose to the occasion and gave an interview as Sandra Day O'Connor that's certainly better than the one Sandra Day O'Connor is gonna give tonight.

'Anchorman 2' Will Take Place in New York and Other Minor Details from Adam McKay

Plot details are scarce about the new Anchorman movie, which starts filming next week in Atlanta, but writer/director Adam McKay shared some more tidbits with Empire, revealing that part of the action will be taking place in New York. "San Diego is too close to Ron's heart to go away, but we feel that New York City is the holy grail for all newsmen," explained McKay. The director also discussed Kristen Wiig's character, who is the love interest of Steve Carell's dimwit weatherman Brick Tamland. "Brick's so far gone that you can't have a relationship with him," continued McKay. "It takes a special someone to get a rope [...]

Paul Rudd's 'Mac and Me' Bit on 'Conan' Never Gets Old

Paul Rudd did Conan last night, and when it came time to play a clip from his new movie This Is 40, he pulled his usual switcheroo, a gag that never stops being funny.

Hit the jump for the rest of Paul Rudd's Conan interview, which includes him talking about growing his hair out for Anchorman 2 and how Will Ferrell told him they were going to make the sequel:

Talking to David Koechner and Owen Benjamin About the Splitting Hairs Comedy Tour and 'Anchorman 2'

David Koechner has teamed up with fellow Saturday Night Live alum Abby Elliott and Owen Benjamin, standup and star of TBS's Sullivan and Son, to tour the country via bus with a branded comedy tour called Splitting Hairs, sponsored by AXE Hair in association with Comedy Central. I recently had the chance to speak with David Koechner and Owen Benjamin while they were all riled up from being on a tour bus for a long time. We discussed the tour and the long-awaited sequel to Anchorman, which David Koechner says might maybe possibly be out in theaters next Christmas.

So, what can people expect from the Splitting Hairs comedy [...]

Paul Rudd Debuts an 'Anchorman 2' Clip on 'Conan'

Conan O'Brien and his crew are currently in Atlanta, filming a week of shows to coincide with some sort of basketball sports thing that's going on right now, and Paul Rudd's also in Atlanta, filming Anchorman 2. Rudd dropped by Conan's show last night and premiered an exclusive clip from the Anchorman sequel, which is the first footage we've seen from the movie so far. Fans of Paul Rudd's Conan appearances can see the gag coming from a mile away, but that almost makes it funnier.

Harrison Ford Will Be in 'Anchorman 2'

Before reprising his role as Han Solo for the new Star Wars movie, Harrison Ford will be appearing in a more important sequel: Anchorman 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ford has joined the cast as a veteran newscaster in the vein of Tom Brokaw. The Anchorman 2 cast also includes returning stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner, plus newcomers Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, and John C. Reilly. This will be Harrison Ford's first role in a comedy since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

James Marsden Joins 'Anchorman 2' as a Rival News Anchor

James Marsden is the second new actor to be added to the Anchorman 2 cast after Kristen Wiig was hired to play Brick Tamland's love interest earlier this month. Deadline reports that Marsden's character is a rival anchor and nemesis to Ron Burgundy. Marsden, probably best known for playing Cyclops in the X-Men movies, has tons of background in comedy, having appeared in 30 Rock, Modern Family, and Death at a Funeral. Anchorman 2 plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that the movie takes place in 1978 and will tackle the birth of the 24-hour news cycle and increased diversity in TV [...]
