Anna Faris, Ben Stiller Announced As October SNL Hosts

With Melissa McCarthy and Lady Antebellum stopping by 30 Rock this Saturday, NBC announced today Ben Stiller and Anna Faris as SNL hosts for the October 8 and October 15 shows respectively. Stiller will be paired with musical guest Foster The People, and Faris with Drake. Both will be returning for their second hosting gig, and then hopefully many more until they're all locked into a grim battle royale against an elderly Alec Baldwin. I look forward to it.

Anna Faris Offered Female Lead In Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator

While a few hilarious names had been tossed around for the female lead in Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator, Anna Faris has been offered the role and is currently in negotiations. Faris will play "the owner of an organic food store" who meets Cohen's desposed leader and "turns around his dictatorial thinking," which is just going to encourage even more organic food store owners to sleep with war criminals.

Paramount Picks Up Anna Faris's Stalker Comedy

Why can't they just let Anna Farris be great? As promising as it is to hear that Anna Faris sold her stalker comedy to Paramount, those who read Faris's New Yorker profile know that the Smiley Face star had originally pitched the idea with herself as the stalker, rather than the stalkee. As the film stands now, Faris would play a character getting Single White Female'd by her roommate from hell; the pitch idea was reportedly based on a "funny incident that happened to her in real life." Ugh, how excellent would Anna be as a glassy-eyed sociopath? We as a society are more than happy to [...]

Scary Movie 5 Hires Writers, Eyes Original Cast

Bend down to this hole carved through the side of my bathroom stall so I can whisper some really spooooooky news to you: Scary Movie 5 is in the works. Reportedly the filmmakers behind the fifth…quel have hired writers Stephen Leff, John Aboud and Michael Colton to pen the screenplay, and have supposedly extended offers to previous cast members Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall and Kevin Hart, who will probably want to read the awful, humiliating way they die before signing on. I, for one, hold out hope that this one could be a return to form. Yes, I know many people blame the series for spawning such [...]

Ben Kingsley, Jason Mantzoukas Up For Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator

Variety reports that Ben Kingsley has joined Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator, while The League's Jason Mantzoukas is in talks for Cohen's sidekick and likely to sign on. Set to be released May 11, 2012, Baron Cohen's political satire follows the adventures of a disposed dictator as he attempts to protect his country from democracy. The film is based on the novel Zabibah and the King, typically attributed to Saddam Hussein and containing slightly fewer talking-penis gags than the film version. Meanwhile, Anna Faris, Kristen Wiig and Gillian Jacos are up for the role of the dictator's love interest. Given the awkward sex scenes in [...]

The Insect-Lined Marriage Bed of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt

According to Anna Faris' New Yorker profile, the Scary Movie star bonded with then-boyfriend Parks and Rec's Chris Pratt over collecting exotic insects. Upon visiting his apartment for the first time, Faris almost cried tears of joy when she saw an African stick bug mounted on the wall. As opposed to when we see bugs decorating someone's bedroom, and cry because we aren't getting our skin back.

Anna Faris Ditches the Blonde Locks for The Dictator

In her recent New Yorker profile, Anna Faris expressed frustration with how studios always wanted her to be sexy, when she just wanted to be funny. As the female lead in Sasha Baron Cohen's upcoming The Dictator, it looks like she got her wish. Long blonde hair and short skirts look like they'll be nowhere near her character, at least based on this first shot of her from the movie.

Anna Faris Makes It Count In What's Your Number?

I am so charmed by Anna Faris in the What's Your Number? trailer that I will look past the egregiously unnecessary voice-over ("Is it possible….that I'm not going to topple over a balcony in this heinous bridesmaid's dress?"). As soon as you find out that Faris's Ally faked a terrible British accent for an entire relationship, all is forgiven. "I went full Borat," she laments. Desperate to keep her bone buddy count equal to or less than 20, Anna's charisma and promising dialogue is enough to enliven a plot based on the Victorian moral code and delicate sensibilities ascribed to all men in most rom-coms. Also, hello, whatever [...]
