Happy Christmas, the latest movie from writer/director Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies, LOL), comes out this summer, and this is the brand new trailer for it. The comedy/drama follows an irresponsible 20something woman (Anna Kendrick) who, after a breakup, moves in with her filmmaker brother (Mark Webber), his novelist wife (Melanie Lynskey), and their baby, disrupting their lives. Lena Dunham also stars as Kendrick's friend. Happy Christmas is being released on VOD on June 26th and in theaters July 25th.
Saturday Night Live announced today that Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen will both be hosting the show in April. The April 5th show will be the first time hosting for Kendrick, while April 12th will be the third time hosting for Rogen, who last hosted in 2009.
The musical guest on the Kendrick show is Pharrell, while Rogen's is Ed Sheeran. The next new episode of SNL airs March 29th with host Louis C.K. and musical guest Sam Smith.
Writer/director Joe Swanberg, who made Hannah Takes the Stairs and the upcoming summer release Drinking Buddies, made a movie last year that the public didn't know about until this week. Swanberg revealed to Indiewire that in December, he filmed an independent movie tentatively called Happy Christmas that stars Anna Kendrick, Lena Dunham, Melanie Lynskey, and Mark Webber. Details about the movie are few and far between but it is set in Chicago, "focuses on a family and is set during the holidays." The director hopes to take Happy Christmas to festivals in 2014, meaning that non-festival folk will probably be able to see it later next year.
