The 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV Show Is Dead But a Movie Is in the Works

In May, CBS passed on making a TV version of Beverly Hills Cop after commissioning a pilot and producers opted to shop it around to other networks. Shawn Ryan (The Shield), who created the Beverly Hills Cop pilot, recently announced via Twitter that efforts to get the show to land at another network failed and that the project is dead for now. He did, however, add, "Good news for fans of franchise is that the pilot tested so well, it has caused Paramount to put another #BHC movie into development."
