This Week in Web Videos: Just Add Water

I don't want to count the number of times I or someone I've interviewed for this column has given the advice "Just do it" when speaking about how to "break into the digital comedy space." It's been said a lot. So much, in fact, that it seems ridiculous–and kind of infuriating–to say again now. The thing is: that's the BEST tip and if people take it instead of getting hung up on perfection, they'll likely find that their game will be upped considerably in not much time at all. Take Loser Bar, a comedy duo that first appeared on This Week in Web Videos less than 6 months ago [...]

Julie Klausner and Ted Leo Take a Whiskey and Whittling Class

Here's a new video Julie Klausner made for her How Was Your Week? live show, in which she, rocker Ted Leo, and producer Chris "Spoony" Spooner take a whiskey and whittling class in Brooklyn. Try to guess whether or not a couple hours of whiskey-fueled woodworking causes Julie Klausner to lead the group in a spontaneous rendition of Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket" or if it makes her recite Outback Steakhouse slogans. The Complete Guide to Everything: Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

It's been a week since our episode recorded right before Hurricane Sandy hit New York City. The good news is that this week we were able to be in the same physical space to record! Also Tom visits the Brooklyn Botanical Garden for the first time and discovers it's just full [...]

Weather Be Damned, Jimmy Kimmel Is Going Ahead With His Brooklyn Show Tonight

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting his show from Brooklyn this week – at least he was supposed to be.
