New Movies from Tom Lennon & Ben Garant and Casey Wilson & June Raphael to Premiere at Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival announced its 2013 lineup this week, and two new comedies from noted comedy duos will be making their world premieres at Sundance's Park City at Midnight program: Ass Backwards, written by Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael, and Hell Baby, written and directed by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Both feature tons of talented comedy folk on both sides of the camera and look pretty awesome. The festival runs from January 17-27 if you can't wait a few months for these movies to make it to theaters. Hit the jump for the first images from Ass Backwards and Hell Baby and for the official synopses, [...]

Paul Scheer and Casey Wilson Have Embarrassing Moments in Life, Just Like You

Vulture and the Upright Citizens Brigade have teamed up to create a new web series called "Pop Culture Memory Lane," in which comedians share their embarrassing stories about their relationship with entertainment in a mix of videos and animation. The series kicked off with Happy Endings star Casey Wilson telling an embarrassing story from her high school days in which she lied about being a journalist in order to hang out with a boy she liked who was an understudy in the musical Rent. Hopefully, this will be the start of a new TV show in which Casey Wilson gives teenage girls tips on how to create elaborate [...]

Casey Wilson Rubs Butts with Johnny Depp, Kind of

The best friendable Casey Wilson followed Johnny Depp on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. Besides Depp, Wilson, and her impressively shiny legs, talked about interning for Susan Sarandon. Apparently, in addition to personal assistants, celebrities need interns to sign their headshots for them and use up all their office supplies. Maybe, the best part of the interview is the moment in the video below where Kimmel very confidently tells Wilson that Happy Endings will get picked up for another season. You better be right Jim-Kim, or it will be an unhappy ending for you.

Megan Mullally Schools Aubrey Plaza, Lizzy Caplan, and Casey Wilson in Coolness

Megan Mullally stars in this Funny or Die video as Peggy Dvorak, the gardening and NPR-listening guru who's dedicated her life's work to turning happy tanned actresses into edgy, deep intellectuals. Her clients include Aubrey Plaza, Lizzy Caplan, Casey Wilson, Michaela Watkins and Lake Bell, but definitely not Ellie Kemper, because some girls just do not have what it takes. Incidentally, "donut hole" is my new go-to insult of all time.

Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael Do the Walk Of Shame Over to ABC

According to Deadline, Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael's Walk of Shame is ambling over to ABC, also home to Wilson's current show Happy Endings. With Wilson and Raphael attached to produce, Shame is reportedly a single-camera comedy about "a group of 20-something friends in New York and features an opening scene about an embarrassing situation followed by flashbacks of the events that led to it." That premise sounds like a fun conceptual challenge if that's the format of every single episode, because how many embarrassing things don't involve horrible sloppy bathroom things? I hope this show is on the air for 20 years so we can [...]

Talking with 'Happy Endings' Stars Casey Wilson and Adam Pally about the New Season

Casey Wilson and Adam Pally are two of the funniest people in a cast full of funny people on ABC's Happy Endings, which just kicked off its third season last week. The two UCB Theatre alums have seen their ABC sitcom grow into one of the most consistently funny show on TV over the past two years, and with a lot of long-running sitcoms ending their runs in the next year or two, Happy Endings is right on the verge of becoming the best sitcom on TV, no contest. I recently participated in a roundtable chat with Casey Wilson and Adam Pally, lobbing questions at them with a roomful [...]

June Diane Rapheal and Casey Wilson Sell Show to ABC

The Housewives is a sitcom about three female friends who are trying to reconcile their feminist beliefs with being a housewife. The show was created by June Diane Rapheal and Casey Wilson and was given a put pilot commitment by ABC. June is in talks to play one of the housewives. It's being described as "multicam with a twist," so kind of like how How I Met Your Mother is shot or, maybe, this just means there will always be a tornado in every scene. I hope it's the latter.

Casey Wilson on Doing a Birthday Suit Birthday Dance With Whitney Cummings

Tonight on Happy Endings, Penny will celebrate her 31st birthday, but it'll be hard for the character to top Casey Wilson's 30th:

For my 30th, I thought, I'm gonna blow it out and do the biggest birthday ever, and I was insisting that everybody do two or three tequila shots, which is such a bad idea. People were actively saying, "No, we don't want to!" because I was peer-pressuring them. And then my girlfriend Whitney Cummings and I had so much tequila that we were randomly pulling our pants down and taking our tops off and dancing. People were like, "Stop, ew, get out of here!" It was [...]

Party Down's Ryan Hansen Will Play Penny's Paramour On Happy Endings

Ryan Hansen from Party Down will guest star on Happy Endings this season when Penny attempts to make over his "successful but style-challenged" character. (Everyone has a struggle.)

The Ladies Of Ass Backward Beseech You

Casey Wilson and comedy partner June Diane Raphael need you to give their asses some money. The comedy duo of SNL alum Wilson and Year One's Raphael are mere shooting days away from finishing their indie comedy Ass Backwards, which has been floating around Movie Limbo since their funding dried up five years ago. The film stars Wilson and Raphael as delusional New Yorkers Kate and Chloe, who travel back to their hometown to win the beauty pageant that bested them in their youth. In addition to the film sounding a little Romy And Michelle, a little Ab Fab and a lot amazing, Ass Backwards offers some excellent [...]

Watch the 'Happy Endings' Live Show Right Here Right Now

Happy Endings is finally coming back to TV tomorrow, and to ring in the new season, the cast and writers held a live show at the UCB Theatre in LA on Saturday (embedded in its entirety above). Hosted by cast members Casey Wilson and Adam Pally, the live show is full of funny stuff, whether you're familiar with Happy Endings or not, and it also features Happy Endings actors Damon Wayans Jr. and Eliza Coupe, Happy Endings director Fred Savage (yes, that Fred Savage), Happy Endings writers Gil Ozeri, Jackie Clarke, Brian Gallivan, and non-Happy Endings people like Kat Dennings and Adam Pally's cousin Ben. It's a jam-packed show featuring cardboard cut-outs, crazy [...]

Reggie Watts and Casey Wilson Duet a Delightful Ditty

It's a classic story of girl meets guy; girl sings a duet with guy, which reveals that the guy puts bugs in their soup; girl is scared of guy and sings about it; girl bonds with guy over singing "ho" and "hey;" girls agrees to get milkshakes with guy. This is just a flirty fun song, perfect for a stroll down the beach. But don't bring your computer to the beach. Splitsider does not recommend that. Unless you want sand messing with your laptop's sprockets and fans, then totally bring your computer to the beach. Also, bring sunblock.

Saturday Night's Children: Casey Wilson (2008-2009)

Saturday Night Live has been home to over a hundred cast members throughout the past 36 years. In our column Saturday Night’s Children, we present the history, talent, and best sketches of one SNL cast member each week for your viewing, learning, and laughing pleasure.

She may have only been on SNL for a year and a half, but that certainly hasn't stopped Casey Wilson from staying on the comedy circuit. Since leaving the show in 2009, Wilson has co-written the film Bride Wars, appeared in plenty of videos for Funny Or Die, and currently stars in the ABC comedy Happy Endings. Being the lone featured player isn’t an [...]

Megan Mullally And Casey Wilson Tear Up "Torn" In Happy Endings Teaser

Natalie Imbruglia is probably still lying naked on the floor, but this time it's out of sheer humiliation after hearing Megan Mullally and Casey Wilson sing "Torn" in a teaser for tonight's episode of Happy Endings. Mullally stops by as Dana, one half of Two Hartz Beat As One, the mother-daughter singing group that Penny was a part of growing up, as well as the likely root of all of her personal issues. "I have to say that I feel like Casey and I work together really, really well," Mullally said of her guest spot. "I think the whole cast is great, and it's been super fun — [...]
