New Movies from Tom Lennon & Ben Garant and Casey Wilson & June Raphael to Premiere at Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival announced its 2013 lineup this week, and two new comedies from noted comedy duos will be making their world premieres at Sundance's Park City at Midnight program: Ass Backwards, written by Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael, and Hell Baby, written and directed by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Both feature tons of talented comedy folk on both sides of the camera and look pretty awesome. The festival runs from January 17-27 if you can't wait a few months for these movies to make it to theaters. The best friendable Casey Wilson followed Johnny Depp on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. Besides Depp, Wilson, and her impressively shiny legs, talked about interning for Susan Sarandon. Apparently, in addition to personal assistants, celebrities need interns to sign their headshots for them and use up all their office supplies. Maybe, the best part of the interview is the moment in the video below where Kimmel very confidently tells Wilson that Happy Endings will get picked up for another season. You better be right Jim-Kim, or it will be an unhappy ending for you.

Megan Mullally stars in this Funny or Die video as Peggy Dvorak, the gardening and NPR-listening guru who's dedicated her life's work to turning happy tanned actresses into edgy, deep intellectuals. Her clients include Aubrey Plaza, Lizzy Caplan, Casey Wilson, Michaela Watkins and Lake Bell, but definitely not Ellie Kemper, because some girls just do not have what it takes. Incidentally, "donut hole" is my new go-to insult of all time.

According to Deadline, Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael's Walk of Shame is ambling over to ABC, also home to Wilson's current show Happy Endings. With Wilson and Raphael attached to produce, Shame is reportedly a single-camera comedy about "a group of 20-something friends in New York and features an opening scene about an embarrassing situation followed by flashbacks of the events that led to it." That premise sounds like a fun conceptual challenge if that's the format of every single episode, because how many embarrassing things don't involve horrible sloppy bathroom things? The Housewives is a sitcom about three female friends who are trying to reconcile their feminist beliefs with being a housewife. The show was created by June Diane Rapheal and Casey Wilson and was given a put pilot commitment by ABC. June is in talks to play one of the housewives. It's being described as "multicam with a twist," so kind of like how How I Met Your Mother is shot or, maybe, this just means there will always be a tornado in every scene. I hope it's the latter.
