'Kroll Show's Second Season Evolves Into "Sketch-uational Comedy"

As far as character showcases go, it doesn't get much more elaborate than Kroll Show.

When Nick Kroll's sketch series on Comedy Central returned for its second season in January, it was clear that he had set his sights firmly on the pseudo-celebrity culture of reality television, with a lineup of characters inspired by the most despicable monsters that crawled out of the Jersey Shore and Real Housewives muck: the Guido womanizer Bobby Bottleservice, the psychopathic publicists of "PubLIZity," the man-child toilet-baby C-Czar, the self-destructively vain Rich Dicks, etc. But if the first season served to introduce the freakshow, the second season unleashed them out into [...]

Chelsea Peretti and Pete Holmes Showed Off Their Perfect Friendship

Pete Holmes' worst best friend Chelsea Peretti stopped by his new show last night, and she lived up to her role by immediately criticizing Pete's seasonally appropriate pants, reviving their Twitter feud, and contemplating the best ways to murder Pete, because they have the ideal friendship. The rest of the interview is below.

Talking to Chelsea Peretti About 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', 'Parks and Rec', and the Differences Between NY and LA Standup

Springing from the creative minds behind sitcom golden child Parks and Recreation and boasting an ensemble that would make any comedy nerd and/or diehard Terry Crews fan salivate, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is, unsurprisingly, one of this year’s most promising new series. Contributing to the ridiculously high hopes is the show’s inclusion of longtime comic and current Twitter hero Chelsea Peretti, who plays Gina, the fictional precinct’s sardonic office administrator. Peretti has steadily gained a reputation as a comedian on the verge of breaking out, her silly and sarcastic style having led to writing gigs on the The Sarah Silverman Program and the aforementioned Parks and Recreation, roles on shows like [...]

Chelsea Peretti and Cora Frazier Are Guest Writing at 'SNL' These Next Two Weeks

SNL is bringing in some new guest writers: standup Chelsea Peretti and humor writer Cora Frazier. The duo will be serving as writers for the next two episodes, hosted by Justin Bieber and Christoph Waltz, respectively. Chelsea Peretti wrote on the first season of Comedy Central's Kroll Show and left her writing gig on Parks and Recreation last year after two seasons on the show. This is the first TV writing credit for Cora Frazier, who has had pieces published in The New Yorker and McSweeney's. Peretti instagrammed a photo of herself writing at SNL on Monday, with the caption, "1st day of school! Guest writing [...]

Chelsea Peretti Launches New Call-in Podcast, Probably Won't Get Calls from Creeps

Stand-up and former Parks and Rec writer Chelsea Peretti just launched a new call-in podcast, The Comedy Bureau reports. The show, entitled Call Chelsea Peretti, is part of the Feral Audio network and the first call-in session took place yesterday afternoon. The first episode drops a week from today on Tuesday the 9th, but Peretti will be taking calls next Monday and every Monday at 4PM PST at (323)989-2435 and reading out messages sent to her at callchelseap@gmail.com. As proven by other comedians who have their own call-in shows, like Tom Scharpling and Jake Fogelnest, Chelsea Peretti will surely be receiving calls from the highest caliber [...]

Chelsea Peretti Helped Pete Holmes Go Through His Wardrobe

On last night's Pete Holmes Show, Pete invited Chelsea Peretti to join him for a segment called "Worst Best Friend," in which she comes in and gets to insult him for a few minutes, as she does. Last night's hook was that Pete doesn't dress very well, so Chelsea came in to go through the show's wardrobe with him, resulting in an extended Cosby impression and exactly zero actual fashion advice.

Jon Glaser and Catherine O’Hara Join the Next 'Greatest Event in Television History'

The third installment of Adam Scott's The Greatest Event in Television History will debut on Nov. 7 on Adult Swim, and while the title of the new episode hasn't officially been released, Entertainment Weekly has some intriguing tidbits. We now know Catherine O’Hara and Jon Glaser will join Scott in his latest shot-by-shot remake of a classic TV show's opening sequence. Chelsea Peretti and Kathryn Hahn were previously announced. Adult Swim also released this family portrait from the show, which gives some clues for classic TV fans, and seems to confirm Vulture's guess from this summer.

Scott's Greatest Events have become instant classics, but he's already announced that there will only be [...]

Talking to Chelsea Peretti about Standup, 'Call Chelsea Peretti,' Pau Gasol and Jonathan Winters

Chelsea Peretti is a self-proclaimed “silly billy.” She berates people for liking soup, routinely discusses the merits of Lakers forward Pau Gasol, and has recorded an entire song dedicated to Wolf Blitzer. And yet, she’s one of the most hardworking comedians in L.A. right now: Formerly a writer for Parks and Recreation, Peretti performs stand-up tirelessly and now hosts her own call-in podcast, Call Chelsea Peretti.

She’s also known for her irreverent, caps lock-heavy Twitter account, which ranges from helpful tips (“If ur depressed buy a can of whipped cream spray it into your hand + mash it on your face u will def feel like a [...]

Pete Holmes Needs Your Help Making It Weird

Pete Holmes's excellent interview podcast You Made It Weird is about to hit a major milestone: its 100th episode. For the big episode, Holmes is copying Marc Maron once again by having another comedian interview him, choosing Chelsea Peretti for his 100th wheareas Maron opted for Mike Birbiglia for his 200th. Holmes has requested, via Twitter, for fans to submit questions for Chelsea to ask him at ymiw100@gmail.com. Hopefully, Marc Maron will submit some questions teasing Pete Holmes for copying him because that's always the best. Also, when is Holmes gonna take in a bunch of stray cats already? That's something that should have happened by now.
