'The A.V. Club' Announces the Second Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival

For the second year in a row, The Onion and The A.V. Club are teaming up for the "26th Annual Comedy Festival" in Chicago, and today they announced 2015's expanded lineup. This year's festival will take place in various Chicago venues from Tuesday, May 26th through Saturday, May 30th and is set to include standup, film screenings, and live Q&As featuring Weird Al Yankovic, John Mulaney, Eric Andre, Adam Resnick, writers from The Onion and The Simpsons, and plenty more. The First-Ever Maui Comedy Festival to Feature Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, James Adomian, and More

The very first Maui Comedy Festival takes place in Lahaina from October 30th through November 2nd, and a bunch of great comedy names are set to show up during the three-day event. The festival, which will donate a portion of its proceeds to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, recently posted their lineup of comedians slated to perform, including the following:

Louis C.K., Amy Schumer Headline Funny or Die's Oddball Tour 2014

Last summer, Funny Or Die held its first ever comedy tour, The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, with Dave Chappelle and Flight of the Conchords headlining. The Onion and The A.V. Club Are Planning 'The 1st Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival'

After running for five years, the festival Just For Laughs Chicago is taking 2014 off, but The Onion and The A.V. Club are swooping in with their own Chicago comedy festival. Titled "The 1st Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival," the event is set to take place from June 12th to June 14th, with Marc Maron, Tig Notaro, Kyle Kinane, and a live installment of Comedy Bang! Bang! on the bill. Tickets are available now.

The 2015 Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival Announces Its Lineup

The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival returns next month in Boston and Cambridge, and the full schedule was announced today. The festival takes place from Friday, April 17th through Sunday the 19th, and H. Jon Benjamin, Wyatt Cenac, Rachel Dratch, Jessica Williams, Bill Nye, and some "special surprise guests" are set to show up throughout the weekend. This Year's Woodstock Comedy Festival to Feature Colin Quinn, 'A Night at Whiplash,' and More

The second annual Woodstock Comedy Festival is set to take place this month from the 19th through the 21st, and the festival just announced its full schedule and lineup of shows, panels, and films. UK's V Festival Comes Under Fire for Its All-Male Lineup

V Festival, the UK's Virgin Media-sponsored music festival, is being criticized this week for its all-male comedy lineup. The Independent reports that the festival's comedy stage will feature 26 comedians, all male. After a ton of complaints, the festival responded by saying they tried to book female comedians but that "no one was available." Last year, the event featured four female comedians; the number was zero once again in 2012. SXSW Announces Comedy Lineup: Bill Cosby, Good Neighbor, and More

Austin-based giant arts festival South by Southwest (SXSW) just announced the comedy portion of its 2014 lineup. Here's a rundown of what the festival will feature:

  • An evening with Bill Cosby, presented by Funny Or Die

The First-Ever Woodstock Comedy Festival Is Happening Next Week

Woodstock, NY, is getting its first-ever comedy festival, with a lot of big names set to play the event. Bobcat Goldthwait, Dick Cavett, CollegeHumor's Jake & Amir, the UCB TourCo, and more are all playing Woodstock Comedy Festival, which is taking place from September 20-22. The fest will also include screenings of the Improv Everywhere documentary We Cause Scenes and Goldthwait's new movie Willow Creek. The event is being produced by Josh Ruben (CollegeHumor, UCB) and a 75 year old former child psychology professor named Chris Collins, both Woodstock natives, with all proceeds from the non-profit festival going towards two charities: one combatting human trafficking and another for domestic [...]

Austin's SXSW Festival just announced its big comedy lineup for this year, which runs from March 14th through the 21st and is set to feature a ton of funny people including Amy Schumer, Wyatt Cenac, Scott Aukerman, Judd Apatow, Brooks Wheelan, Eric Andre, James Adomian, Nick Kroll, Vanessa Bayer, Dan Harmon, and plenty more. The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival Announces Its 2014 Lineup

The seventh annual Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival is set to take place at The Bell House and Union Hall in Brooklyn next month from September 18-22, and the full lineup was just announced. In addition to the return of Mirman's Pretty Good Friends show and two live recordings of the StarTalk Live! podcast with Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye, a bunch of performers and comedy people are slated to show up including H. The Kids in the Hall Are Doing a Live Reading of 'Brain Candy'

Sketch group The Kids in the Hall is reuniting for a live staged reading of the script for their 1996 cult movie Brain Candy. On Tuesday, March 11th, the group will take the stage at Toronto Sketchfest (tickets here), complete with accompaniment with Brain Candy's original composer Craig Northey from the band The Odds, and Chris Murphy and Gregory MacDonald of Sloan. All five members of Kids in the Hall will be present, and they will also be screening the movie's original ending.
