After being fired from Community in 2012, creator Dan Harmon used his live-show-turned-podcast, Harmontown, to build a cult of devoted followers. Community returns for its fifth season on January 2nd, with creator Dan Harmon coming back to the show as well. This is the second trailer we've seen for the new season (watch the first one here), and this Hobbit-y trailer makes it look pretty dark.
Joining an incredible roster of guest stars, David Cross is set to appear on the upcoming fifth season of Community. Vulture reports that he will play Hank Hickey, the estranged son of newcomer Professor Hickey, played by Breaking Bad's Jonathan Banks. The episode will be the show's second Dungeons & Dragons episode, following season two's "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons."
The guest list for season five of Community is a whos-who of comedy stars and friends. Recently announced guests include Vince Gilligan, Mitch Hurwitz, Tim Heidecker, and Eric Wareheim; others include Nathan Fillion, Paget Brewster, Rob Corddry, Brie Larson, LeVar Burton, Kumail Nanjiani, and Ben Folds.
NBC has finally announced when its troubled sitcom Community will return. The show will be taking its Thursday 8pm timeslot back on January 2nd, 2014. Back to back episodes will air that night from 8pm to 9pm, and the show will just be airing one episode a week at 8pm after that. Parks and Recreation, which currently occupies that slot, will be moving back to 8:30 come January. The move to bring Community back was made as a result of NBC canceling Welcome to the Family, its lowest-rated comedy, after only three episodes.
