'SNL,' 'Between Two Ferns,' 'Bob's Burgers' Win Creative Arts Emmys

The Emmys are set to air on NBC next Monday, but over the weekend all the Emmys that won't make the main show — called the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys — were handed out. The big comedy-related winners include the Barack Obama edition of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, Bob's Burgers for Outstanding Animated Program, and SNL, which walked away with five awards for directing, makeup, costumes, hairstyling, and Jimmy Fallon's hosting stint in December.

'SNL', 'Childrens Hospital', and More Win Creative Arts Emmys

The Creative Arts Emmys were this Saturday. Though mostly it was awards like "Best Light Mixing in a Reality Program," there were also some odds and ends of note. Childrens Hospital – yep, Childrens Hospital will now be known as "The Emmy Award-winning Childrens Hospital" – won for Outstanding Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Program. The Daily Show won for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series because they always win. Jimmy Fallon won the award for Outstanding Guest Star in a Comedy Series for his turn hosting SNL. Louis C.K., Melissa Leo, 'Childrens Hospital' Won at the Creative Arts Emmys

The Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, where awards are given to technical positions as well as categories that don't quite fit into the main Emmys night, were held last night, and as is the way with award shows these days, Louis C.K. did pretty well for himself. He won for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special for his HBO special, Oh My God, and Melissa Leo won Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her fantastic appearance on Louie.
