Great news for grandpas and robots and the people who love them: Robot & Frank is now on DVD! The film, which came out last summer, tells the story of what happens when, instead of taking your aging father to a nursing home, you give him a robot. In the case of this movie, your father will use the robot to get back into the jewel-thieving business. Frank Langella stars as Frank with Peter Sarsgaard as the robot (named Robot), James Marsden as the enabling son, and Liv Tyler as the daughter. Susan Sarandon rounds out the cast as a local librarian and love interest for Frank. [...]

Fun Thing to Buy of the Day: 'Cougar Town' Season 3

Season 3 of Cougar Town is out on DVD this week, and if you've already taken the time to get over that off-putting name, you should probably go ahead and pick it up. The Courteney Cox and Busy Philipps-starring sitcom made its debut on TBS this January and if a show is good enough to get booted off of network TV only to have basic cable come to its rescue, it's probably good enough for your DVD shelf.

Rashida Jones and Writing Partner Will McCormack Sign a Two-Year TV Deal

Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack just signed a two-year development deal with Warner Bros. Television. As writers, the duo is best known for penning the screenplay to the movie Celeste & Jesse Forever, starring Jones and Andy Samberg, which premiered at Sundance last year and received generally positive reviews. In addition to the Warner Bros. deal, Jones and McCormack are writing the movie version of Jones's graphic novel miniseries Frenemy of the State, about a 20something socialite working undercover for the CIA. FX's fantastic animated spy series Archer comes back for a much deserved fourth season this week, which means that the third season is finally out on DVD (and Blu-Ray, too)! Make sure you grab a copy so you don't have to miss any of the goings-on at ISIS headquarters, whether it's Archer doing spy stuff or just Pam being gross. Burt Reynolds makes a special guest appearance and really where else on TV do you expect to see an ocelot?

Comedy Central Has New Albums from Rob Delaney and T.J. Miller Available Now

Comedy Central just released new albums from two very funny guys: Rob Delaney and T.J. Miller. Rob Delaney's Live at the Bowery Ballroom is the audio version of the hour special Delaney self-released earlier this year. T.J. Miller's Mash Up Audiofile is a companion album to his Comedy Central series Mash Up, featuring a 45 min. set from Miller with extra music/comedy mashups mixed in. Both are available for the low, low price of $9.99, which is pretty affordable.

Fun Thing to Buy of the Day: 'Celeste and Jesse Forever'

Last summer’s comedy-drama Celeste and Jesse Forever, written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack and starring Jones and Andy Samberg as the titular separated couple, is out on DVD and Blu-Ray today. The movie also features Elijah Wood, Emma Roberts, and The Mindy Project’s Chris Messina. If pilot season works in Samberg’s favor then we’ll be able to see both him and Jones in Mike Schur shows. Until that happens, Celeste and Jesse can tide you over.

Fun Thing to Buy of the Day: 'I Remember Me' by Carl Reiner

Television pioneer and comedy mainstay Carl Reiner sparked the careers of numerous TV stars, created memorable sketches with his friend Mel Brooks, and raised a successful family. Now he’s written a book talking about it, and the autobiography, I Remember Me, is available in hardcover starting this week. In it, Reiner recounts stories from his life and over fifty years in comedy. In addition to hardcover, I Remember Me is also available on Kindle and on audiobook as read by Reiner himself.

NBC Is Keeping Alec Baldwin Around a Little While Longer

Alec Baldwin just signed a new two-year deal with Universal TV that will keep him at NBC a little while after 30 Rock ends its run on January 31st. Deadline reports that the deal will involve Baldwin, who's also a producer on 30 Rock, developing and producing TV shows, one of which might be a starring vehicle for himself. This news comes just after NBC locked Tina Fey into a new four-year deal a few months ago. Just released today, the new book Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors is written by Portlandia stars/creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein and brings the fun quirkiness of the series to book form. In case you're worried the book is "printed on 130% recycled paper in a peanut-free, smoke-free plant by local workers in a friendly and fair environment, free of sudden noises and unnatural light." Emmy-award winning Edie Falco stars as the titular Nurse Jackie, this season struggling with sobriety and being a mom in New York City and also nurse things at her work. The show returns for a fifth season this spring so there is still time for you to catch up, probably with the help of this DVD.

Maybe you know Brooklyn comedian Eugene Mirman from his stand up or variety show hosting gigs, or perhaps you recognize his voice as weird kid Gene Belcher on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers. Either way, this week you can buy his first hour-long Comedy Central special An Evening of Comedy in a Fake Underground Laboratory on CD/DVD combo pack.
