The Dead Dog Farm Upstate, by Luke Pohjala

You’ve probably been told it before, sometime in your childhood: “Buster (or any other dumb, thoughtless dog name) had to go to a farm upstate. Don’t cry. He’ll have plenty of room to run around in the fresh air. He’s in a better place now.” By now you’ve realized that was a lie. This probably made you question lots of things your parents told you. Will you really grow big and strong if you eat your vegetables? Do they actually love you? Will we really get there when we get there? The truth is that anything your parents told you was, in some way, a lie.

But I’m here [...]

The Complete Guide to Everything: Dog Fostering

This week a discussion of the elaborate post-production process that each episode goes through and Tim gets taken to the cleaners at the local lube shop. Also, Tom fosters a dog which of course leads to a heated discussion about Webster versus Diff'rent Strokes. The rest of the episode is pretty much just a blow by blow recounting of Tom's fostering a dog which is later revealed to have spent almost the entire episode snotting into Tim's sweatshirt.

This week's episode is brought to you by Audible. Get a free audiobook download and 30-day trial by signing up at tcgte.com/audible.

The Golden Collar Awards Proved Dangerous for Triumph

After being brutally snubbed by the Golden Collar Awards, it was only natural that Triumph the Insult Comic Dog head down there with a camera crew to document the event. Instead of learning about the Golden Collars, though, we end up getting to know a very different side of Triumph. The underside. Stick around till the end to watch the X-rated Conan-Modern Family crossover you never knew you needed. Stella and Triumph, sitting in a tree, H-U-M-P-I-N-G.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog Wants What He Is Due

Conan O'Donnell's canine friend Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was passed over for a Golden Collar Award nomination by Dog News Daily, and no greater injustice has ever been perpetrated. (At least they got one thing, right, though: Stella from Modern Family was nominated.) In this video appeal, he takes down his competitors one by one. Luckily, those competitors do not include Puppy Conan, because oh my god I don't know if Triumph could compete there:

Read Sarah Silverman's Touching Obituary for Her Dog

Comedian Sarah Silverman's beloved dog Duck sadly passed away on Monday. Silverman adopted Duck, a chihuahua-pug mix who was 19 at the time of his death, from a no-kill shelter 14 years ago. He quickly became her self-described best friend and even turned up on her Comedy Central series, The Sarah Silverman Program. "It always tickled me that even though we were different species, he was my best friend," Silverman said. "Duck left me today but I forgive him." Yesterday, she wrote a heartfelt "obituary type thing" about Duck, which you can read in its entirety below:

Cats Are Funnier than Dogs

Unpopular Opinions is a new weekly column in which a writer takes a stand against popular opinion, whether it's asserting the true merit of a supposedly guilty pleasure or dissenting against the universally lauded.

Unpopular Opinions as a series has focused on some serious stuff, but no issue is more dire than this. Cats and dogs have literally been in battle for centuries and that battle has rubbed off on their respective owners — there is no argument like one between a dog-person and a cat-person (except a fictional one in which the people are actually part dog/cat, part person). These epic debates oft revolve around cuteness, which [...]

New Project X Photos, Captioned By the Protagonist's Dog

11:18pm: I'm currently hiding out underneath the porch, waiting for this nightmare to be over. I have found a camera and taught myself to write so that I can document the events of this near-apocalyptic evening for posterity.

Someone Please Help This Poodle Groomed to Look Like The Simpsons

Simpsons writer Matt Selman tweeted out a couple photos today of this poor dog that had its fur dyed and groomed to resemble the entire Simpson family, minus Maggie. Homer is on the poodle's other side (photo below). It's the work of award-winning Southern California dog groomer Catherine Opson, and you can see more godawful things she's done to animals here.

Meet the Moderately Funny YouTube Clip That's Being Turned Into a Feature Film

Pretty funny video, right? Yeah, it's being made into a movie. Paramount is "in talks" with Seinfeld writers Alec Berg and David Mandel to develop the feature film. This news basically amounts to a re-enactment of the video, with Paramount as the human voice, and all of us collectively playing the dog. "You know movies, right?" "Uh-huh." "We're gonna make a movie, in real theaters, with writers from Seinfeld…based on a one-minute YouTube video." "Aaaaaaauugh!"
