Inside 'Nathan For You' with Co-Creator Michael Koman

Michael Koman is the co-creator of two of the best comedies on TV — Nathan For You and Eagleheart – and he's about to add a third to his roster. Koman is gearing up for production on an yet-to-be-titled Adult Swim sitcom that pairs Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Jack McBrayer, which Koman co-created with Robert Smigel and David Feldman. After spending seven years on the writing staff of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Koman left the late night world, and he's since become some sort of anti-Chuck Lorre, responsible for multiple TV shows that are some of the most original and funny things currently happening on TV. Nathan For [...]

Adult Swim Put 'Eagleheart's Entire Third Season Online for Free

Adult Swim's excellent comedy show Eagleheart is set to air its season finale this Thursday, and the network uploaded the first nine episodes of the season to YouTube yesterday so fans can catch up. Written by Michael Koman, Andrew Weinberg, and Jason Woliner and starring Chris Elliott, Eagleheart is trying something pretty ambitious for its third season: telling one long continuous story under the title Eagleheart: Paradise Rising. You don't really need to have seen previous seasons in order to jump in with season three as the whole thing is self-contained.

The first nine episodes of the season are available via Adult Swim's YouTube page, and you can check [...]

Talking to Chris Elliott and Maria Thayer About Season 3 of 'Eagleheart'

Eagleheart returns tonight on Adult Swim, with the season three premiere set to air at midnight. The fast-paced action-comedy, starring Chris Elliott, Maria Thayer, and Brett Gelman as a trio of US Marshals, heads into new territory this year as the show does its first-ever serialized plotline. Season three is one 10-episode-long continuous story called Eagleheart: Paradise Rising that's far more ambitious than anything the show's ever tackled in the past — and more ambitious than what most TV comedies are doing, for that matter.

I recently talked to Chris Elliott and Maria Thayer about Eagleheart: Paradise Rising, getting jealous of your costar being covered in fake blood, and how this [...]

Watch a Trailer for Season 3 of 'Eagleheart'

We posted a teaser for the new season of Eagleheart last month, but here's a full-length trailer for Season 3, which starts up on Adult Swim November 14th. Unlike previous seasons, the new one will be one long serialized story called "Paradise Rising," and the trailer is pretty action-packed and full of great stuff from Chris Elliott, Maria Thayer, Brett Gelman, and newcomer Martin Sheen.

Adult Swim Picks Up 'Eagleheart' for a Third Season (And More Exciting Chris Elliott News)

Chris Elliott was on Letterman last night, and he announced that his Adult Swim series Eagleheart was just picked up for a third season, which is great news for the hilarious, offbeat show (and TV, in general). In other Chris Elliott news, his new book The Guy Under the Sheets: The Unauthorized Autobiography, a fake tell-all memoir, comes out tomorrow and is available for pre-order on Amazon now. As if that weren't already enough Chris Elliott stuff for you today, here's his Letterman appearance from last night where he debuts a clip from his (fake) new History Channel show, Gay Pawn:

Brett Gelman Has a New Adult Swim Special Premiering April 24th

Adult Swim is set to premiere a new TV special later this month from Brett Gelman and Jason Woliner (Eagleheart), Splitsider has learned. Called Dinner With Friends With Brett Gelman and Friends, the 30-minute special will air Thursday, April 24th, at midnight. Written by Gelman and Woliner and was directed by Woliner, the special stars Gelman as himself, inviting his Hollywood friends over for "a lively night of dining, tasty showbiz chit-chat, and psychological torture." Gelman's dinner guests include Dale Dickey, Gilbert Gottfried, Fred Melamed, Alison Pill, Lance Reddick, and Alex Karpovsky as themselves, and Anthony Atamanuik as Joey Fillipiano.

To whet your appetite, here's the last project Brett Gelman and [...]

Talking to 'Eagleheart' Writers Jason Woliner and Andrew Weinberg About the New Season

Adult Swim's absurdist Chris Elliott action-comedy Eagleheart returned for its third season last week. This year, the show's creative team (made up of creators/writers Andrew Weinberg and Michael Koman, and writer/director Jason Woliner) opted to turn Eagleheart into one long serialized story called Paradise Rising, covering Elliott's character Chris Monsanto's 10-episode quest to prove his innocence in the death of a fellow US Marshal.

I recently had the chance to talk to Andrew Weinberg and Jason Woliner about Eagleheart's shift in focus, why they don't like using comedic actors as guest stars, and how it's not the sort of TV show you can just have on in the background.

What's on TV This Week: 'Eagleheart' Returns and 'Eastbound & Down' Ends Its Run (Again)

The calendar year is winding down, but there's still plenty of exciting stuff happening in the TV world. Adult Swim's Eagleheart, starring Chris Elliott, returns for its third season Thursday night at midnight. Unlike the first couple seasons of the show, season three will follow one long story arc under the title Eagleheart: Paradise Rising. Just like one long Eagleheart movie. The 10-part run of episodes sees co-stars Maria Thayer and Brett Gelman returning as Chris Elliott's Chris Monsanto goes on a "quest to find his missing friend, prove his innocence in a ghastly death and uncover the shocking truth behind the origins of the U.S. Marshals Service." Watch a Trailer for the New Season of 'Eagleheart'

Here's a new teaser trailer for the upcoming third season of Adult Swim's Eagleheart, which premieres November 14th. Like all good action-comedy trailers, this one contains plenty of blood, gore, and a briefcase full of pizza.

Inside 'Eagleheart's' Second Season with Creators Michael Koman, Andrew Weinberg, and Jason Woliner

Currently in the midst of its second season, Adult Swim’s 11-minute crime-comedy Eagleheart has quickly emerged as one of the fastest and funniest shows on TV. For the uninitiated, Eagleheart stars Chris Elliott, Maria Thayer (Strangers with Candy), and Brett Gelman (Comedy Bang Bang) as a trio of sociopathic U.S. Marshals who wind up in all kinds of exceedingly strange and hyper-violent scenarios week to week. Eagleheart is put out by Conan O’Brien’s production company and written by longtime Conan writers Michael Koman and Andrew Weinberg and Human Giant's Jason Woliner, who manage to cram a full 30 minutes worth of story into each 11-minute installment.

'Apocalypse Now'-ish: Exploring and Understanding 'Eagleheart's Ambitious Latest Season

Where would Jaws be without its malfunctioning mecha-shark? Or Apocalypse Now and its malfunctioning mecha-Brando? The unintentional influence of circumstance can lead to some unpredictable and wonderful things, and that is certainly the case with the most recent season of Adult Swim’s Eagleheart (entirely available online).

The Jason Woliner-helmed project, starring Chris Elliott, Maria Thayer, and Brett Gelman and co-written by Woliner, Michael Koman, and Andrew Weinberg, has always flown under the radar on Adult Swim, despite an impressive list of guest stars (Conan O'Brien, Dean Norris, Ben Stiller, Mickey Rooney, and most recently, Joe Estevez) and a steady output of bizarre scenarios. The show recently wrapped up [...]

'Eagleheart' Is Back and Better than Ever

When Adult Swim's Eagleheart returns tonight, the show will feel a little different. For one, the season premiere is the first 30-minute episode (it usually runs 15 minutes), but the major change to Eagleheart this season is that the writers are telling one long, serialized story like a TV drama.

I've seen four episodes of the 10-part season, called Paradise Rising, and it finds Eagleheart expanding the scope of its storytelling and character development while going off into some stranger, more unexpected tangents than the show has explored in the past. It's still the fast-paced, joke-dense series it was in seasons one or two, but the focus on an ongoing [...]

Chris Elliott Made It to Letterman Last Night After Finishing the NYC Marathon

Chris Elliott appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, and since his career really began when he started writing and performing bits on Letterman's Late Night show, it's not a huge surprise that his appearance, ostensibly to plug his new returning Adult Swim show Eagleheart, really was just one giant, marathon-themed sketch. Even Dave seemed impressed.

Jason Woliner's New Novelty Shirt Business is a Fiasco

Comedian Jason Woliner, the non-performing fourth member of Human Giant and a resident writer/director on Adult Swim's Eagleheart, attempted to get into the novelty T-shirt business last week, but so far, it's been a complete disaster. Woliner started his business, the Je Shirt Company, last Tuesday to market a "Che Leno" novelty shirt, a mash-up of Jay Leno and Che Guevara's faces. Customers were unable to recognize the face as being Jay Leno's and the shirt had to be redesigned, kicking off a series of mishaps and public Twitter meltdowns that continue to this day. Woliner has lost thousands of dollars on the shirt line in [...]
