'Parks and Rec' Co-Creator Mike Schur: "It Wouldn’t Surprise Me If Next Year Were the Final Season"

Parks and Recreation co-creator/showrunner Mike Schur gave an interview to EW about the future of the series, and he said that he expects next year to be the show's last, although no decision has been made:

“We haven’t talked about it with NBC officially, but for many reasons — mostly just creatively in terms of where we’re building to this year — it would be natural if next year were the last year. I mean, you never know. We thought season 3 was our last year … No decision has been made on that, but it wouldn’t surprise me if next year were the final season.”

Glenn Howerton Says Season 10 Will Be 'It's Always Sunny's Last

It looks like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will end its run in 2014. The show's ninth season is set to air this fall, and star Glenn Howerton tells Rolling Stone that season ten, which will air next year, will be its last. Here's what Howerton had to say when asked if season ten will be the last:

Yes. There’s a certain point where you wear out your welcome and we don’t want to do that. We want to leave them wanting more. We spend a lot of time trying to find new lines to cross. We’re not trying to offend people or gross them out, but we’re looking [...]

Robert Carlock Discusses Landing the '30 Rock' Plane

30 Rock was still 30 Rock last year but just with a little bit more heart. Heading into its final season, showrunner Robert Carlock told Entertainment Weekly he's excited to reach some sort of fulfilling conclusion for Liz.

We had started a few years ago this idea that Liz, in her total quest for happiness — whether that’s possible or not, which I don’t think we’ve answered yet — wanted to have a family. Back in the day, we weren’t sure we’d be around next week. It was fun to know that, ‘Okay, now if we’re heading toward some sort of endgame for the characters or for the series, [...]

Sad News: Videogum Is Shutting Down

Earlier today, Videogum senior editor (and Splitsider's very first intern!) Kelly Conaboy broke some sad news in an article titled "Hey Guys, We Have To Talk To You About Something." Though the reason for the change is unclear, Videogum is no longer being run by SPINMedia — the company behind Stereogum, The Frisky, and Spin Magazine's online venue SPIN — and will cease its usual operations after Kelly's last official day this Friday. It's possible that Stereogum editor Scott Lapatine might try "keeping Videogum online in some form," but Conaboy's departure doesn't paint a very bright picture for the site, which has amassed a huge commenting community [...]

Pangea 3000 Ends Like Almost All Sketch Groups Do

The New York Times has a story about the end of popular NYC sketch group Pangea 3000 and how ultimately most sketch groups don't get big TV deals, they just end eventually because people get jobs and other people move across the country.

The Ending to 'How I Met Your Mother' Was Filmed Back in 2006

I haven't watched much How I Met Your Mother, but from what I gather, it's the story of sexual escapades ending in pregnancy one man very candidly tells his teenage children over the span of nine TV years. Given that time is capable of drastically altering people's physical appearances, the creators of HIMYM planned ahead for the reveal of the show's main conceit way back in 2006 and filmed the climactic scene with the cast that will air on the hour-long series finale episode on March 31st. From HitFix:

CBS Still Unsure about Giving 'How I Met Your Mother' a Ninth Season

How I Met Your Mother (which was the chosen title because How I Hung Out with My Best Friends in the Many Years Preceding Meeting Your Mother was too long) is still going very strong after seven seasons. Last season featured some of the series' best moments (and some of its not so best) and was the show's second highest rated season thus far. However, the showrunners/creators (Carter Bays and Craig Thomas), the production company (20th Century Fox), and CBS all know that at some point Ted has do meet the damn mom. Well, all three parties have began talks to decide if that is going to [...]
