Cable network Adult Swim unveiled a roster of new shows, specials and pilots this morning. Most notable are Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland's new animated series Rick and Morty, which was announced previously and is expected to premiere sometime in 2014; Paul Scheer's high school drama parody pilot Filthy Sexy Teen$, which he co-created with NTSF:SD:SUV cohorts Jonathan Stern and Curtis Gwinn; and Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories, a pilot for an anthology series from duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim that features Zach Galifianakis in the pilot.
See below for the full slate of programming announced today, which also includes frat guy ghosts, satanic dogs, and new specials from [...]
The new YouTube channel JASH, featuring original videos from Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim & Eric, and Reggie Watts, launched last week, and here's the trailer for a new JASH web series called Tim & Eric's Go Pro Show, which debuts April 15th and revolves around the comedy duo attaching cameras to their heads to show you what their lives are like. After years of wondering what it's like to be Tim & Eric, you'll finally get to find out.
Here’s the new trailer for The Comedy, which, despite its title (and the fact that it stars Adult Swim duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim) is a dramatic film. To make things more confusing, it’s a drama about comedy. The movie stars Heidecker as Williamsburg hipster and explores him and his friends’ love for sarcasm and irony and how hollow their lives are as a result of it. Co-written by its director Rick Alverson, The Comedy stars Wareheim, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and Gregg Turkington (a.k.a Neil Hamburger) as Heidecker’s friends. The movie will be released on VOD and iTunes on October 24th and in limited release in theaters on [...]
Here's how Eric Wareheim describes his and Tim Heidecker's sense of humor in this article: “Awkward moments are…very much our thing." (I would guess that that ellipsis likely represents about 45 seconds to a minute of silence.) The pair, plus their Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie costar Will Forte, also discuss their penchant for post-production "glitch-outs" and their role in producing Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang! show on IFC. And how hot turtlenecks are in Palm Springs. Art is suffering, as they say.
Tim and Eric’s new YouTube channel JASH may not have the same amazing ring to it as Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, but fans of the TV show will be happy to know JASH has a lot of the same sensibilities.
And it would be one thing if JASH was exclusively a venture between Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, but the channel has comedic heavyweights Reggie Watts, Sarah Silverman, and Michael Cera as partners as well.
Together, they're producing short films, music videos, web series, and other projects for JASH, which Wareheim describes as a “place of good.” Since Tim and Eric went off Adult Swim three [...]
Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and Reggie Watts have joined forces to form a comedy collective called JASH that will create content for a new YouTube channel, and here's the trailer for said channel. The JASH gang did a Reddit AMA and a live episode of Comedy Bang Bang yesterday from SXSW to promote the network. The first regular (non-trailer) video is set to launch April 8th. YouTube has been making a big push for original programming over the last couple years, and this is the biggest comedy move the site has made yet by pulling this group of well-known movie and TV stars together. Could [...]
Aside from the other good stuff about this interview with Tim and Eric – where T&E imitators go wrong, their Old Spice commericals, and of course the differences between making sketches and making a movie – the pair also hint at their plans for the future. Eric says, "I think we’d like to make more Tim and Eric movies, like Tim and Eric’s Trillion Dollar Movie—same kind of format, but then try some new shit." It'd be pretty great if it turned into a series and they eventually had to make a Tim and Eric's Septillion Dollar Movie. And spend a septillion dollars doing it.
Tim and Eric want your pledge to watch their movie and definitely not the movie The Lorax. I guess it's too late for the Zit Twins to make an appearance in Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, but this is probably worth supporting anyway.
Comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have a new six-day web series starting today and running daily until Sunday. Here's the first episode of the show, called Tim & Eric Go Pro. It comes from JASH, a new YouTube channel featuring original content from Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, and Reggie Watts. This is Tim & Eric Week over at JASH. In addition to Tim & Eric Go Pro, a faux-reality show that sees the duo strapping Go Pro cameras ("the camera of choice for surfers, skaters and other extreme athletes") to their heads for a week, there will be more Tim & Eric stuff deployed throughout the week. At [...]
Eric Wareheim of Tim & Eric fame directed this beautiful and funny music video for the band Beach House, starring Twin Peaks' Ray Wise, and it manages to one-up Twin Peaks in being all surreal and weird and stuff.
The full-length trailer for Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is out, and it's as madness-packed as you'd expect. There's fake tans and head dildos and angry Will Ferrell and everything! Also, thank goodness it includes a scene of someone slowly cutting off an old lady's fingers and splattering her face in the blood. I was worried that wouldn't be in there.
