ABC Announces Fall Schedule Including 'The Muppets,' 'Dr. Ken,' and 'Fresh Off the Boat'

ABC announced its fall TV lineup today, including time slots for two new shows — the "docusoap-style" Muppets revival (Tuesday nights at 8:00pm) and Ken Jeong's semi-autobiographical comedy Dr. Ken, which will replace the recently canceled Cristela on Friday nights. Additionally, Fresh Off the Boat will return for a second season after The Muppets on Tuesdays, moving from 8:00pm to 8:30pm. Nahnatchka Khan's 'Fresh Off the Boat' Premieres on ABC February 10th

Now that ABC has canceled two of its freshman comedies Selfie and Manhattan Love Story, it's made room for another new comedy, Don't Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 creator Nahnatchka Khan's Fresh Off the Boat. According to Deadline, the comedy will air a preview on Wednesday, February 4th at 8:30pm between episodes of The Middle and Modern Family then premiere in its regular time slot the following week on Tuesday, February 10th at 8:00pm. 'Don't Trust the B' Creator Nahnatchka Khan Sells a New Show to ABC

Don't Trust the B creator Nahnatchka Khan just sold her second show in as many weeks. Deadline reports that ABC is developing a new show for the 2014-2015 TV season written and produced by Khan. Called Fresh Off the Boat, the project is based on restauranteur/TV personality Eddie Huang's memoir of the same name and follows a Chinese family who moves to Orlando (Huang's family, upon which the show is based, is Taiwanese). Like Huang, Khan is also a first-generation American. Jake Kasdan (New Girl, Bad Teacher) is also producing the show. ABC Cancels 'Cristela,' Renews 'Fresh Off the Boat' and 'Black-ish,' and Orders 'Dr. Ken' and 'Muppets' Revival

A bunch of comedies have just been canceled, renewed, and ordered over at ABC. THR reports that the network has canceled Cristela Alonzo's freshman comedy Cristela, renewed Fresh Off the Boat and Black-ish for a second season, and ordered three new comedies to series: Ken Jeong's semi-autobiographical comedy Dr. Ken, a Dan Savage-produced family sitcom called The Real O'Neals, and the single-cam mockumentary-style Muppets revival. ABC is expected to announce one more comedy order sometime today. In addition, ABC also handed out season renewals to The Goldbergs, Modern Family, and The Middle.
