The Trailer for Jon Stewart's Directorial Debut 'Rosewater' Is Here

While John Oliver was hosting The Daily Show last summer, Jon Stewart was hard at work on his first movie Rosewater based on the book Then They Came for Me by Maziar Bahari. The first trailer was released today, and the film stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Golshifteh Farahani, Kim Bodnia, Nasser Faris, Haluk Bilginer, Jason Jones, and Dimitri Leonidas and is set for a limited release on November 7th.

Will Ferrell está en Fuego in the Telenovela Spoof Casa de mi Padre

Based on the number of slaps delivered in the trailer, Will Ferrell's Casa de mi Padre is going to leave his stoic face looking like ground chuck. Which is to say, I'm on board already. A feature-length telenovela spoof filmed entirely in Spanish, Casa features Ferrell as Armando Alvarez, a man who will fight gangsters, seduce his brother's girlfriend and record the film's theme song if it means he can save his father's ranch. Y Tu Mama Tambien stars Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal round out the cast as Ferrell's newly wealthy brother Raul and the conniving drug lord Onza, respectively. While the question seems to be, "Should [...]

Don't Expect Too Much From Will Ferrell's Spanish

Will Ferrell is giving an advance "lo siento" for his Spanish performance in Casa de Mi Padre. His co-star Gael García Bernal does promise that Ferrell's nailed the "Spanish pronunciation, comprehension and vocabulary of swear words," however. And isn't that really the most important thing? The article also paints a funny picture of Casa as an incredibly low-budget experiment (shot for the paltry sum of $6 million) that studios "wouldn’t touch…with a 10-foot pole." I guess it's technically true when you compare it to Will Ferrell's last big movie The Other Guys, which grossed $119 million at the box office. Next to that, Casa de Mi Padre is [...]

Here's What Will Ferrell's Spanish-Language Comedy Will Be About

Will Ferrell's next movie is, strangely enough, a Spansih-language comedy that's currently going by Untitled Spanish Comedy. That name will probably change! He stars in the movie alongside Y Tu Mama Tambien stars/hunks Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, and here's what we can expect from the plot:

What to Expect From Casa de mi Padre, Based on Its Full-Length Trailer

Here are a few things we can expect from Casa de mi Padre when it comes to los teatros on March 16, based on the newly released full-length trailer:

– slow-motion shooting – declarations of love made while facing another person's back – campfire songs about why turtles move slowly – more slow-motion shooting – Gael Garcia Bernal making walrus teeth out of what I think are pencils but could instead be long, thin cigars – slow-motion running and shooting – slaps! – some guy named Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell Making Spanish-Language Comedy With the Guys from Y Tu Mamá También

This is…interesting: "Funny or Die Presents director Matt Piedmont will soon be directing Will Ferrell in the Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi padre. That’s odd enough, and now Ferrell has two great co-stars: Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, who are making quite the career of working in films together. (They’ve acted opposite one another in Y tu mamá también and Rudo y Cursi, and exec produced films like Sin Nombre and Sólo quiero caminar, in which Luna also starred.)"
