Fuse Renews 'Billy on the Street' for a Third Season, Coming in 2014

Cable network Fuse announced today that they've renewed Billy Eichner's Funny or Die game show Billy on the Street for a third season. The show's second season wrapped up in March and featured Eichner running around the streets of New York asking strangers quiz questions accompanied by guest stars like Maya Rudolph, Zachary Quinto, Pink, and Eichner's Funny or Die boss, Will Ferrell. Eichner received a Daytime Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Game Show Host" this year but lost out to Ben Bailey for Cash Cab. Billy Eichner Puts Rachel Dratch Through a Julia Roberts Obstacle Course

Here's a clip from Funny Or Die's Billy on the Street, in which host Billy Eichner sends guest Rachel Dratch through the show's first-ever Julia Roberts-themed obstacle course. It's just as exhausting (and funny) watching Eichner scream at Dratch for five minutes as it probably is running through the actual obstacle course.

Fox Orders a Game Show Pilot Hosted by Andy Richter

Longtime Conan sidekick Andy Richter is getting ready to host a show of his own. THR reports that Fox has ordered a pilot for a new game show called Step Up that Richter will be hosting. Here's the description of the show:

Step Up offers contestants "life-changing" amounts of money if they can successfully climb a pyramid, with greater rewards coming with bigger risks as they approach the top. Players will be faced with the decision to climb higher — to "step up" — or take their cash and go home.

This is Andy Richter's second stab at hosting a TV game show. In 2010, Richter hosted a CBS pilot [...]

Comedy Central's '@midnight' Is Silly and Often Pretty Funny

The late night arena is now more cluttered than ever, with 17 comedy shows filling the airwaves every week between the hours of 11pm and 2am. Comedy Central added another show to the mix, @midnight, last night, expanding their hit Daily Show/Colbert Report late night block to 12:30am for the first time ever. At least @midnight stands apart from the growing herd of late night series in that it's not a talk show; it's a game show.

@midnight is hosted by Chris Hardwick, who in interviews and on the program is wary and self-mocking about audiences tiring of him hosting so many shows. At the top of the first [...]

Chris Hardwick's Comedy Central Show Will Be Called '@Midnight' and It's a Game Show

The comedian/podcaster tweeted this afternoon that the series will be called @Midnight and that it'll be a game show. Hardwick will be hosting live test shows at LA's NerdMelt Theater beginning next Tuesday. @Midnight is described as "a rapid-fire game show inspired by the darkest recesses of social media." It was previously announced that Funny or Die is producing the series, which has The State and Reno 911! masterminds Tom Lennon and Ben Garant serving as showrunners. @Midnight is set to premiere on Comedy Central this fall, airing at 12am (duh) Monday through Thursday after [...]
