Jack Black Is Producing a Web Series Called 'Ghost Ghirls' for Yahoo

Jack Black has partnered with the production company Shine America to make Ghost Ghirls, a new Yahoo original web series, Variety reports. It's a 12-episode comedy that stars Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci as two twentysomething ghost hunters and will feature cameos from Jake Johnson, Molly Shannon, Jason Schwartzman, and Jack Black himself. The show was in development at SyFy t be a TV series last year, but the cable channel ultimately passed on it. Created by Jeremy Konner (Drunk History), Ghost Ghirls is just the latest move in Yahoo's push towards becoming a major online comedy provider, following in the footsteps of series like Seth Morris and Funny or Die's [...]

Syfy's getting into comedy with its purchase of Ghost Ghirls, a paranormal parody that's executive produced by Jack Black. Lady improvisoirs (that is a word now, because I just said it) Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci will "attempt to solve paranormal mysteries each week while trying to prove to themselves and their customers that they are competent ghost hunters." Pretty sure "competent ghost hunters" is an oxymoron of some kind. Anyway, this sounds funny.
