Seth MacFarlane Turned Down the Chance to Host the Oscars Again

Seth MacFarlane's performance as Oscars host this year drew a mixed response, but the ceremony got big ratings. It was reported last month that he had been asked to return to host the awards in 2014, but MacFarlane revealed today on Twitter that he said no to the opportunity. "Traumatized critics exhale: I'm unable to do the Oscars again. Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep," MacFarlane wrote. He added, "However, I highly recommend the job, as [Craig] Zadan and [Neil] Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business. My suggestion for host is Joaquin Phoenix." Don't get your hopes up, [...]

Rebel Wilson Is Your 2013 MTV Movie Awards Host

Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson has just been tapped by MTV to be the host of the network's 22nd annual MTV Movie Awards next year. The ceremony is set to air on April 14th and sees the trend of MTV using a comedian to host the awards show continue. Russell Brand hosted last time and was preceded by Jason Sudeikis, Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Mike Myers, and Sarah Silverman before him. Prior to that, the MTV Movie Awards were in a weird era where they hired people like Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan to host. Rebel Wilson, who hails from Australia, has been keeping especially busy [...]

Vince Vaughn to Host 'SNL' April 13th for the First Time in 14 Years

NBC announced today that Vince Vaughn will be hosting the April 13th edition of the show, with one-name R&B singer Miguel serving as musical guest. The next new episode is set to air on April 6th with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Phoenix. The April 13th episode is only Vince Vaughn's second time hosting SNL. He last hosted a whopping 14 years ago in late 1998, which is a really long time ago as evidenced by the fact that he was hosting to promote that Psycho remake he starred in and that Jimmy Fallon was brand new then.

Seth MacFarlane to Host 'SNL' Premiere with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Craig Coming After

On September 15, Seth MacFarlane will host the premiere of the 38th season of SNL (because apparently the bear from Ted had prior commitments). Frank Ocean will be the musical guest and be great, but expect a lot of singing from Seth Macs. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host on September 22 with musical guest Mumford & Sons, which will be VERY exciting for that certain sort of 16-year-old girl who shops at Urban Outfitters. This will be JGL's second time hosting, after a very good and fairly manic first go-around in 2009. Finally, for all you Anglophiles out there, Daniel Craig will be hosting on October 6 with British musical [...]

Tina Fey Says There's "No Way" She's Hosting the Oscars

After Seth MacFarlane's Oscar-hosting received a chilly reception in the wake of everybody loving Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's performances as Golden Globes hosts last month, you'd expect the Oscar people to have been on the phone with Fey and Poehler's agents the second that monologue ended Sunday night. But the odds of a Fey/Poehler Oscars are looking pretty slim after an interview Tina Fey just gave to The Huffington Post:

Interviewer: Is it a possibility that you and Amy Poehler could wind up hosting the Oscars next year? Fey: … I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman — the [...]
