Talking to Clark Duke About 'A.C.O.D.', 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2', and the Future of 'Clark and Michael'

In addition to joining the cast of The Office for its final season last year, Clark Duke has a ton of movie projects hitting theaters. This year, he starred in the superhero sequel Kick-Ass 2 and the indie comedy A.C.O.D., and he has another surprising sequel, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, on the way next spring. Opening in select theaters today, A.C.O.D. stars Adam Scott as a guy who's participating in a study on adult children of divorce while dealing with his parents (Richard Jenkins and Catherine O'Hara) reuniting for his brother's (Clark Duke) wedding.

I recently talked to Duke about A.C.O.D., being around for the end of The Office, [...]

Adam Scott in Talks to Replace John Cusack in 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2'

Adam Scott may be the new face of the Hot Tub Time Machine franchise. When a sequel to the 2010 time travel comedy was announced in January, stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke were onboard but leading man John Cusack was not. Now, The Wrap reports that Parks and Recreation and Party Down star Adam Scott is in negotiations to play the sequel's lead character, a totally different character from Cusack's. Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink is returning and co-writing the script with Corddry, who didn't have a hand in writing the original. Although John Cusack was fine in the original, Adam Scott [...]

Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase Join 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' for a Little 'Community' Reunion

Community star Gillian Jacobs and ex-Community star Chevy Chase have both joined the cast of the long-awaited sequel to Hot Tube Time Machine, Deadline reports. Chase starred in the original movie in a supporting role as a mysterious hot tub repairman, while Jacobs is new to the franchise, playing the movie's female lead. In addition to Chase, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 sees director Steve Pink, co-writer Josh Heald, and stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke returning. Adam Scott is taking John Cusack's place as the lead. Corddry has revealed that Scott is playing Cusack's character's son, who the gang goes to visit 10 [...]

'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' to Start Filming in June, Maybe with John Cusack

In January, news came out that a Hot Tub Time Machine sequel was in the works, but now, star Craig Robinson has revealed to Collider that the sequel is official and filming is scheduled to begin in June. The previous report on Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was that Robinson, Rob Corddry, and Clark Duke would be the focus of the new movie with John Cusack not reprising his role, but when Robinson was asked this weekend if Cusack is returning, he responded, "Negotiations are still going, and everybody's involved." The original movie's director Steve Pink is expected to return and to co-write the script with [...]

Talking to Adam Scott About 'The Greatest Event in Television History' and Other Stuff

As if starring in Parks and Recreation and Party Down wasn't enough to establish Adam Scott's comedy nerd cred, he's also, for the past year, been working on a series of 15-minute specials for Adult Swim under the name The Greatest Event in Television History. The first one, in which Scott and Jon Hamm recreated the opening credits to cheesy '80s detective show Simon & Simon shot-for-shot, aired in October and racked up hundreds of thousands of hits online. Tonight at midnight, Scott's second Greatest Event special, featuring himself, Amy Poehler, and Horatio Sanz, airs on Adult Swim. I recently had the chance to talk to Adam Scott [...]

'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' Is Something that Seriously Might Happen

The 2010 comedy Hot Tub Time Machine only grossed $50 million on a $36 million budget but went on to become a surprise hit on Blu-Ray and DVD, and now the studio behind the original is considering making a sequel. Stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke are in "exploratory talks" to return, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but the original's leading man John Cusack is not involved. The deal is still in the early stages, but Hot Tub Time Machine 1 director Steve Pink is in talks to direct again and to write the script with Corddry, who had no hand in writing the original. Corddry co-writing [...]
