Short-Format Comedy: The Forward-Looking Comedians of Instagram and Vine

Artistically Challenged, the first native “television” series to appear on Instagram, is a story told in 15-second episodes — 15 seconds being the maximum length of an Instagram video. I just watched the first season, all 32 episodes, in a grand total of eight minutes. Yes, my head hurts a little. “Did I just have a stroke?” was a thought that crossed my mind more than once during my viewing. And before you ask, no I did not smell burnt toast — but I did laugh a hell of a lot.

The series debuted and completed its first season in July; it tells the story of Nick, an aspiring artist hoping to pass [...]

Nathan Fielder Has Been Hiding the Same Pornographic Image in All His Instagram Pictures

To help promote the second season premiere of Nathan for You on Comedy Central next Tuesday, comedian Nathan Fielder recently started an Instagram account to post some seemingly boring selfies that are actually, in fact, pornographic images of the same masturbating old man. Click through to check out all five of Fielder's decidedly NSFW Instagram posts if you dare.

Justin Bieber Calls Lorne Michaels "Lauren" on Instagram

This weekend's SNL host Justin Bieber instagrammed this photo of himself and SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels prior to the show, but he made a pretty crazy mistake in the caption. Bieber wrote, "Watch me on snl tomorrow night thank u Lauren ur the man." So, either Justin Bieber is a sloppy speller or he legitimately thought Lorne Michaels's first name was "Lauren." I can't blame him; when I was 12, I briefly thought Lorne's name was "Lauren" too, but I would have double-checked if he ever asked me to host SNL. Also, unlike Bieber, I'm not from Canada, where I'm pretty sure Lorne Michaels is on [...]

Nathan Fielder and Conan O'Brien Talk Instagram and Dumb Starbucks

Nathan Fielder was a guest on Conan last night, and when O'Brien asked him to explain his recent Instagram stunt he gave a pretty simple answer — he was just trying to give back to fans, but unfortunately his private activities were made known to the world. Click through to watch Fielder tell O'Brien about Dumb Starbucks and how it made him greedy: "In a way I let my guard down and the devil climbed inside me."

Adult Swim Premieres a New Episode of 'Rick and Morty' on Instagram

Well here's a television network first: Adult Swim has premiered the newest episode of Rick and Morty via the show's official Instagram account. Because of Instagram's 15-second video length limitations, the episode has been sliced up into over one hundred clips. Click through to watch the first five, or head on over to the Rick and Morty Instagram page to endure one of the most bizarre TV show premiere techniques ever.

Nathan Fielder Tells Scott Aukerman About His Nude Instagram Pictures

"It was just a silly thing at first. I thought it would be funny to have the reflection, but then as it went on it became this challenge. It's very hard to get the reflection perfect, so it was less about the dick and it was more just to see different ways to get a reflection, and everyone around the office started to participate and tried to figure out ideas … I see it as a definite comment, and I'm definitely commenting on a lot of nuances about our society as a whole, but also specific aspects of our society in general."

The Vine 5 Film Festival: This Isn't the End

Vine is a toy from Twitter that challenges users to make the most profound work ever committed to video in exactly six seconds. Or at the very least, challenges comedians to bring a little more laughter into this world. Every Tuesday we showcase five of the funniest short shorts of the past week.

Your RSS feed might be difficult and not show the videos, but trust us – they are there.

The first half of the third week of June was a simpler time, when apps stayed on their side of their respective streets, building more and more banks to manage all of their money in peace and harmony. [...]
