Trying to Keep Up with the Unstoppable J.B. Smoove

J.B. Smoove is a force to be reckoned with. The quick-witted, high-energy standup, actor, and writer, known for his role as Leon on Curb Your Enthusiasm, has been running on all cylinders the last few years, appearing in memorable TV and movie roles and in his first special for Comedy Central. He currently stars on The Millers and Real Husbands of Hollywood and is the host of the new season of Last Comic Standing, which premieres tonight on NBC.

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Smoove about the new season of Last Comic, his love of standup, and his philosophy on work and play.

Kanye West's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Pilot Was Pre-tty, Pre-tty Fascinating

One week after a clip of Kanye West's failed HBO comedy pilot was discovered hiding in plain sight and subsequently taken down by the TV network that purports to not be TV, Wyatt Cenac decided to answer the call and be a hero, screening the episode in its entirety at his weekly Night Train show at Littlefield in Gowanus. I was fortunate enough to be in the audience to watch one of the most fascinating failed pilots of all time.

Conan O'Brien and J.B. Smoove Do Some Erotic Exercises

Here's an extra from Conan released today, where Conan and J.B. Smoove practice some very erotic exercises while Andy Richter watches from the comfort of the couch.

Larry David Casts Every Actor for His Movie – There Are No More Actors

You want to hang out with Larry David, right? So it should come as no surprise that a lot of people have signed on for Clear History, his semi-improvised HBO movie about a man named Nathan Flomm (David) who changes his identity to Rolly DaVore and moves to a small island off the coast of Massachusetts, after giving up 10% of an electric car company that eventually is worth billions. So who's signed on? Let's run them down:

Jon Hamm plays Will Haney, Flomm's handsome rival and boss at the car company.

Kate Hudson plays Rhonda, Haney's wife who has a special friendship with Flomm.

Michael Keaton plays [...]

J.B. Smoove Was Really Freaked Out By Conan's Giant Moon

J.B. Smoove dropped by Conan last night, ostensibly to plug his new sitcom in The Millers, but really to prove that he should probably have his own talk show. And when he does, there will be no giant moon props that portend the end of the world. Below, watch Conan get roped into reenacting J.B.'s exercise routine with his wife, and check out his flawless Planet Earth audition reel.

J.B. Smoove Brings the Ruckus to The Dictator

In case you had any any lingering, Bruno-induced doubts about Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator, at least you can feel secure that someone is about to topsy-turvey that motherfucker. According to The Hollywood Reporter, J.B, Smoove joins The Dictator alongside Cohen, Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley and Jason Mantzoukas, as well as cameos from Johh C. Reilly and Megan Fox. The Curb Your Enthusiasm actor will be playing the role of "Usher." Little else is known about the part, which I will chose to believe is the "Confessions Part II" singer until I am physically planted in the theater, watching the trailers.
