Here's the Trailer for Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel's New Movie, 'Sex Tape'

How I Met Your Mother may have ended last night, but you'll be seeing Jason Segel in things again soon enough. This is the first trailer for Sex Tape, a new comedy from director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard, Bad Teacher) that comes out this July and stars Segel and Cameron Diaz as a married couple who film a sex tape, only to accidentally distribute it to their friends and family via Apple products.

'How I Met Your Mother': Still Occasionally Funny, Frustrating as Hell

I…

Well…

Huh…

So…we didn't meet the mother last night in "Something New", so much as we got a look at her cute, possibly too young for Ted visage. Cristin Milioti's face, to be more specific. I thought after watching the show on a week-to-week basis for over five years that when the moment finally came when the titular mother would be shown, it would be a bigger deal to me emotionally. But I think I had assumed that when I first saw what this supposedly amazing woman would look like, I would then hear and see how she would respond to her future husband, what kind [...]

'How I Met Your Mother' Recap: "The Over-Correction"

"The Over-Correction" didn't fulfill its promise almost immediately. After its initial ten seconds of four of our heroes on the phone with one another seemingly hiding out in different tiny spaces, we were all praying to Rufus that a twenty one minute parody of R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet was about to flicker in front of our faces. Initially I was as disappointed as you were, but after thinking about it for more than a second it became clear that outside of the abstract it would be a terrible idea. (Besides, this show has already had their musical episode.) Nonetheless, you shouldn't tease people like that.

Instead, [...]

Watch the 'Freaks and Geeks' Cast's Audition Tapes

"I was looking for kids who seemed authentic," says Judd Apatow about the casting process for his and Paul Feig's cult hit late 90s high school series Freaks and Geeks. Apatow and Feig certainly found an eclectic bunch of real teen actresses and actors, all of whom seemed like actual high school students and not just performers trying to fit into the usual stock teen movie clichés. Feig recalls in a recent A.V. Club interview, “We can’t just cast this with a bunch of beautiful kids and put glasses on them and mess up their hair and say, 'Oh, they’re nerds.’ We’ve got to have real casting.' [...]

'The Muppets' Blooper Reel Is Longer Than Most if Not All Blooper Reels

Or so they claim. There isn't a government body governing the blooper bodies… yet. I heard after Michelle Obama gets everyone to drink kale juice instead of Pepsi, she's going to focus on bloopers. Well, her or Sam the Eagle, who will likely ban them all together. I'd choose Fozzie to be the Secretary of Bloopers because he's the best and under his rule, everything always would be bloopers. Wocka Wocka 2012. Wocka… Wocka.

Jason Segel to Play David Foster Wallace in a Biopic

Jason Segel has been cast as late author David Foster Wallace in an upcoming film called The End of the Tour, The Wrap reports. The movie is based on the book Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace, which journalist David Lipsky wrote about the week he spent on tour with David Foster Wallace  while writing a story about him for Rolling Stone in 1996. As Lipsky and Wallace traveled together, jealousy and competitiveness became issues between the two as Wallace was becoming a well-known author in the wake of Infinite Jest's release.

Jesse Eisenberg will play Lipsky in [...]

Details on Jason Segel's Young Adult Novel Series 'Nightmares!' Revealed

Jason Segel revealed earlier this month that he has a series of young adult novels on the way, and now, we've learned the books' titles and what they're about. Entitled Nightmares!, the series is "an adventure story about a group of kids who realize it’s up to them to save their town from fear, which has manifested itself in the form of nightmare creatures that have slipped into the everyday world." Segel, who has previously written movies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets, said in a statement, "Ultimately, it’s a story about learning that we can accomplish anything, as long as we are brave enough to try. These [...]

'How I Met Your Mother' Recap: "Lobster Crawl"

Ah yes, the art of seduction. Since the beginning of time, countless magazines have attempted to tell you in different ways to have self-esteem, shower and not be a creep. But seriously: what is the truth?

Cookies. Feed them cookies.

Christoph Waltz Will Be a Muppet Villain

Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz is close to signing on for a substantial role in the new Muppets movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Waltz is in talks to play an Interpol inspector, one of the few major human characters in the new movie (besides a million cameos). Other human roles that have yet to be filled are that of a "Russian femme fatale" and a "male lead 'whose intentions are always in question.'"  As reported previously, James Bobin (who directed the previous Muppets movie) and Nicholas Stoller (who co-wrote it with Jason Segel) are writing the sequel for Bobin to direct. One [...]

Hillary Clinton Lets Jason Segel Down Easy

A little while back, Jason Segel told Us Weekly that he really wanted to put Madam Secretary Clinton in his next film, saying you can feel her comic chops "from a mile away." Well, it seems like Mrs. Clinton took his offer very seriously and wrote him a letter to say she just doesn't have time right now to star in Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2: More Forgettable, Sarahier and Marshallest but maybe one day:

Jason Segel Is Starring in a Movie About a Maple Syrup Heist

Jason Segel is attached to star in a new movie about a real-life Canadian maple syrup heist, THR reports. The untitled comedy-drama is based on a story about the heist of $20 million worth of maple syrup from a Quebec warehouse that resulted in over 20 people being arrested. Seth Gordon (Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses) is directing the movie, and Chris Sheridan (Family Guy) is writing it. If you want to read about the real maple syrup heist that inspired the film, which I'm assuming is the only maple syrup heist ever, you can do that here.

Jason Segel Wrote a Series of Young Adult Novels, Out Later This Year

Jason Segel revealed yesterday that he has written a series of three young adult novels and that he hopes to have the first one released later this year. Segel spoke about the books for the first time last night at a Forgetting Sarah Marshall screening and Q&A hosted by filmmaker Jonathan Demme in Pleasantville, New York. The book series, which is currently the subject of a bidding war between publishing houses, is based on Segel's first screenplay for a kids adventure movie, which he sold to a movie studio for "super cheap" when he was 21 because he "didn't know any better." Segel bought the script back from the [...]

'How I Met Your Mother' Recap: "Twelve Horny Women"

Which show was better: Saved by the Bell or The Wire? Both were beloved while never winning a single Emmy award. Both were quintessential shows that redefined television with their honest depictions of drugs and class warfare. It's a tough, unfair question if you have seen both, but the question popped up in my brain thanks to "Twelve Horny Women." One of the members of the New York Judiciary Committee that Marshall faced that didn't appreciate his wonderful puns was played by none other than Dennis Haskins, Mr. Belding himself.

Jason Segel Is Playing a Punk Rock Dad

Jason Segel and writer Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) sold a pitch to Fox today for a new comedy movie based on the documentary The Other F Word, Deadline reports. The doc (trailer after the jump) follows a bunch of aging punk rock musicians as they transition into fatherhood while still trying to stay true to who they are (I'm assuming "the other f-word" in the title is "fatherhood" but I've been wrong before). Segel and Pearce's film will star Segel as one of these punk rock dads. Segel is an experienced musician himself, having composed music for his movies Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, [...]
