Watch Scott Gairdner Enact Jesse Eisenberg's 'Batman vs. Superman' Audition

This isn't the first time Scott Gairdner (Conan, Funny Or Die) has posed as Jesse Eisenberg for a fake audition tape, but it's certainly the most time-appropriate, as news of Eisenberg's casting as Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman just leaked a few days ago. Hopefully the producers of the real movie see this and at least consider the laser hands idea.

The Lost Roles of 'Freaks and Geeks'

There’s been a lot of hubbub over Judd Apatow’s latest series Girls, which just became the first ever TV show released through Apatow’s production company to last beyond its first season, but let’s look back to a time when the reigning King of Hollywood Comedy didn't have such an easy time earning second season renewals.

Freaks and Geeks is the poster child for the critically-acclaimed show that was mistreated by its network and ignored by audiences during its initial run, only to become wildly popular with fans in the years that followed its tragic, too-soon cancellation. The show accomplished this years before the likes of Arrested Development and [...]

Woody Allen's Roman Comedy Nero Fiddled Will Come Out Next Summer

Woody Allen's next comedy is called Nero Fiddled, and it takes place in Rome. The four vignettes comprising the film will star Woody Allen himself, IN THE FLESH, plus Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, and Ellen Page (and Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, and Greta Gerwig). Okay, I realize this probably won't happen, but if Alec Baldwin played Nero, that would be incredible. Anyway, Sony Pictures Classic says there are "more laughs in this one than you can imagine" and calls it "the perfect summer comedy of 2012." Yeah, that's what you'd like us to think, ISN'T IT, SONY?

Jesse Eisenberg, Dana Carvey, Nicki Minaj, and Linkin Park Coming to SNL

Some SNL hosting news: on January 29th, Jesse Eisenberg and Nicki Minaj will be live from Studio 8H. Then on February 5th, we get Dana Carvey and Linkin Park. Why Dana Carvey? After all, he doesn't seem to have anything to promote. I don't know either, guys. The Lorne works in mysterious ways…I'm sorry.

Watch the Teaser Trailer for Richard Ayoade's 'The Double'

Here's the brand new teaser for The Double, a dark comedy written and directed by Richard Ayoade and starring Jesse Eisenberg as a guy struggling with the appearance of his doppelganger. Based on the Fyodor Dostoyevsky novella of the same name, this is the second film for Ayoade after his critically acclaimed 2010 movie Submarine, and he made tons of great British TV before that so everything he does is something to look forward to.

Watch the Trailer for Richard Ayoade's New Movie, 'The Double'

Here's the trailer for The Double, the second movie from director Richard Ayoade, who's best known for his acting work on UK sitcoms The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boos, and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Ayoade made his directorial debut with the 2010 coming-of-age comedy-drama Submarine, but based on this trailer The Double looks to be quite a departure. A 1970s-esque movie about a guy who's life is ruined by the appearance of his doppelganger, The Double stars Jesse Eisenberg in both parts with Mia Wasikowska and Wallace Shawn in supporting parts. It's based on the Fyodor Dostoyevsky novella of the same name and just might end up being the best [...]

We're All Following Woody Allen To Rome With Love on June 22

Woody Allen's new comedy with Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, and Ellen Page is now called To Rome With Love, and it's coming to theaters June 22. (It seems the powers that be decided Nero Fiddled would be a confusing title for international audiences. Go figure.)

Mark Zuckerberg May Show Up on SNL This Weekend

With Jesse Eisenberg hosting SNL tomorrow night, rumor has it that Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and, as I understand it, soulless teenage billionaire, will show up for a cameo. You know, "to show he has a sense of humor." Oh, Zuck. We know you don't have a sense of humor. [via]

Jason Segel to Play David Foster Wallace in a Biopic

Jason Segel has been cast as late author David Foster Wallace in an upcoming film called The End of the Tour, The Wrap reports. The movie is based on the book Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace, which journalist David Lipsky wrote about the week he spent on tour with David Foster Wallace  while writing a story about him for Rolling Stone in 1996. As Lipsky and Wallace traveled together, jealousy and competitiveness became issues between the two as Wallace was becoming a well-known author in the wake of Infinite Jest's release.

Jesse Eisenberg will play Lipsky in [...]

Tracy Morgan + Jesse Eisenberg + Drugs + Pianos = 'Why Stop Now'

"Eisenberg & Morgan" has a real ring to it. The unlikely comedy duo is set to take their vaudeville act to the big screen in Why Stop Now, a film about a piano prodigy (Eisenberg) who helps his addict mother (Melissa Leo) get one last fix from her drug dealer Sprinkles (Morgan). It sure sounds madcap and zany and Tracy Morgan's character is freaking named Sprinkles. The movie comes out in August and then there'll be no stopping the modern day Abbott & Costello that is Eisenberg & Morgan

Jimmy Fallon Recruits Maya Rudolph, Patton Oswalt & Jason Segel for Christmas Mad Libs

Jimmy Fallon offered up a new spin on his traditional reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, mad-libbing it with guests Martin Short, Patton Oswalt, T.I., Maya Rudolph, Jesse Eisenberg, Jack McBrayer, Brian Williams, Zac Efron, Howie Mandel, Jason Segel and Walter the Muppet. I don't want to spoil too many of their beautiful, reverent verses, so I shall only say this: Merry Christmas to all, and to all a fried penis.
