Comedy's infamous lack of gender (and racial) diversity has remained a relentlessly discussed issue lately, especially since SNL made the bizarre decision to hire a batch of no less than five white male cast members in the fall, took the brunt of the internet backlash that followed, and worked to fix the problem by holding emergency black female auditions. On the other hand, just last week Jerry Seinfeld got touchy when asked why most of his Comedians in Cars guests are white males, which he punctuated with a damning question: "Who cares?" Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions Adds Female-Centric Label Gloria Sanchez

With the exception of 2012's Bachelorette, Adam McKay and Will Ferrell's production company Gary Sanchez isn't exactly known for making female-driven movies, but according to Deadline, that's all about to change as the company has added a sister label aptly named Gloria Sanchez Productions. Longtime Gary Sanchez executive Jessica Elbaum — who has worked as producer on Step Brothers, The Other Guys, Casa de mi Padre, Bachelorette and most recently Anchorman 2 — will head the label and seek out female voices for Gloria Sanchez projects in the vein of Bachelorette and the upcoming movies Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy and Welcome to Me starring Kristen Wiig.
