Here's Jimmy Kimmel's Amusingly Dysfunctional Family Cake Decorating Competition

Normally a friendly cake decorating competition could make for some great bonding memories between family members, but when Jimmy Kimmel took his mom, Aunt Chippy, Cousin Sal, and TV sidekick Guillermo to Duff's Cakemix to give it a shot, it turned out how a lot of family get-togethers do: Aunt Chippy gets angry, repeatedly screams "WHO TOOK MY BAWLS!?" and threatens everyone's good time.

Kristen Wiig Had a Bad First Date During 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

In what was either a poorly scheduled Thursday or an impressive feat of mental multitasking, Kristen Wiig went on a very condensed first date with an OkCupid match named David right in the middle of her interview on Kimmel. Wiig's channeling a bit of her flirting expert Rebecca Larue here, at least until David screws everything up with that creepy gift.

Sarah Silverman Returned Some of Jimmy Kimmel's Stuff to Him on His Show

It's always awkward running into an ex. I imagine running into an ex when they're a guest on your talk show is a whole different level of awkwardness. Last night, Sarah Silverman came by Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new HBO special and brought along a box full of things that he left at her place after they broke up. All things considered, I think they handled the whole thing pretty well.

The White House Will Be Forced to "Investigate" a Joke From 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Last week, ABC issued an apology for a child's remark about China from the October 16 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Nevertheless, a petition calling for the White House to "investigate" the show continued to grow, and it has now acquired the 100,000 signatures required for the Obama administration to comment on the incident.

In the original segment, "Kids' Table", Kimmel asked a bunch of six- and seven-year-olds what the US should do about its $1.3 trillion debt to China. One child replied, "Kill everyone in China," which Kimmel laughed at, ultimately ending the segment with, "Well, this has been an interesting edition of Kids Table – the [...]

What It's Like to Write For a Late Night Talk Show

Comedy is an industry. For every performer on stage, there are hundreds of people working behind-the-scenes. These creative and business jobs, which exist in all disciplines and levels of comedy, collectively make up the comedy scene. In this column, we're looking a comedy jobs that are less visible than that of a performer, and talking to the people who do those jobs about what they do, how they got there, and how that job has affected their perspective on comedy.

The past year has brought a crop of new late night talk shows to television, and that means more opportunities for late night writers. One of the most sought [...]

'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Is Doing a Week of Shows in Austin for SXSW

Jimmy Kimmel is getting ready to host another week of his late night talk show from Austin, Texas. From March 10th to March 14th, Jimmy Kimmel Live will be broadcasting new episodes in conjunction with the annual music and film festival South by Southwest.

South by Southwest is set to begin announcing the lineup for the comedy portion of the festival next week, with shows, live podcasts, and panels planned. This is Jimmy Kimmel Live's first week-long residency in Austin. The show did a week of episodes from Brooklyn in the fall of 2012 and a week in Detroit in 2006 leading up to the Super Bowl.

Jimmy Kimmel's Cousin Sal Hits Braggy Angelenos with Snowballs

The last thing we non-west coasters need during this crippling polar vortex is the sight and sounds of a comfortable Los Angeles resident rubbing in their perfect weather and year-round beach atmosphere, and thankfully Jimmy Kimmel's cousin Sal was on hand to give these smarmy warm weather bastards the instant karma they deserve.

China Is Demanding More From Jimmy Kimmel Over Child's Joke

Jimmy Kimmel Live continues to be criticized over a recent joke made by a child on the show. In a segment from Oct. 16, Kimmel asked several of six- and seven-year-olds what the US should do about its $1.3 trillion debt to China, to which one child replied, "Kill everyone in China." After a backlash, ABC apologized for the segment, but that didn't stop a petition making it all the way to the White House. Now, China's foreign minister is asking for more, saying in a press conference yesterday, “ABC should face up to its mistake and respond with a sincere attitude to the reasonable demands by Chinese people in America, [...]

ABC Apologizes for a Kid's Remark in a 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Segment

ABC has apologized for an unscripted remark made by a child during a Jimmy Kimmel Live segment that aired earlier this month. The offending comment was made during the October 16th show in a segment called "Kids' Table," which involved Kimmel having a political conversation with a bunch of six and seven-year-olds. Kimmel asked the question, "America owes a lot of money to China, $1.3 trillion. How should we pay them back?" to which one child replied, "Kill everyone in China." Kimmel laughed and responded, "Kill everyone in China? Okay, that’s an interesting idea," but the kid's comment has drawn a lot of controversy.

An Asian-American political organization called [...]

Kanye and Kimmel Talked Things Out Last Night

Last night, Kanye West came by Jimmy Kimmel Live so the two men could talk out their beef. If you missed it, Kanye went on a bit of a twitter rampage after Kimmel did a video spoofing an interview he did on the radio in which he was represented by a child. You know, a totally normal and relatable reason for two guys to get into a fight. The first part of the interview is above, the rest is below.

White House Responds to Petition Requesting to Cancel 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Back in November, a petition calling for the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel Live reached 100,000 signatures, requiring the Obama administration to comment on an October "Kids' Table" segment in which Kimmel asks a group of children to comment on the $1.3 trillion debt to China and one of the kids responds with the suggestion "Kill everyone in China!" In a response titled "What We Have to Say About Jimmy Kimmel" posted late last week, the White House had this to say on the controversy:

The parties involved have already apologized independently. Jimmy Kimmel has apologized on-air, and issued a written apology. ABC has removed the skit from [...]

Here's a Holiday-Themed 'Billy on the Street' Featuring Amy Poehler

Billy Eichner appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to show a special holiday edition of Billy on the Street, where he and Amy Poehler breathlessly run around the streets of Manhattan and ambush New Yorkers by testing their Christmas carol lyric knowledge on the spot. Come for the Billy on the Street, stay for Amy Poehler being extremely adorable and visibly uncomfortable with Billy insulting a baby for being named Arrow.

Chris Elliott Got Super Naked on Jimmy Kimmel's Desk Last Night

Nudity appears to have been the theme of late night on Monday, and Chris Elliott's decision to get naked on Jimmy Kimmel Live would probably make even Eric Andre blush. Elliott's nudity, of course, was all for the art. Below, he talked about his eccentric, not particularly health new diet.

On Kimmel, Danny McBride and Steve Little Talked Injuries and Famous Guest Stars on 'Eastbound & Down'

Danny McBride and Steve Little of HBO's Eastbound & Down stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to talk about the fourth season of the show and how Danny is really a disappointingly nice guy compared to Kenny Powers. Below, they talk about Marilyn Manson, Steve's attempts to connect with Lindsay Lohan, and Matthew McConaughey's advice for wooing the ladies.
