Ellen DeGeneres went on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and surprised Kimmel with some footage from his last appearance on her show, in which she and his security guard Guillermo played a sneaky practical joke on him. This had better not erupt into a late night/daytime talk show prank war because that would be overstimulating for the one person who watches TV at both of those times.
After airing at midnight for a decade, Jimmy Kimmel Live began running at 11:35 last night for the first time. With Jimmy Kimmel now squaring off directly with rivals Jay Leno and David Letterman, it looks like he won the first bout. The annual Kennedy Center Honors were held a few weeks ago, with late night pioneer David Letterman being amongst those recognized at the prestigious White House ceremony. The event aired last week on CBS, and it's now been uploaded online. Big-time comedy people Tina Fey, Jimmy Kimmel, Alec Baldwin, and Ray Romano all trekked out to Washington to pay tribute to Letterman, who seemed to not hate the whole ceremony as much as you'd expect Letterman to hate something like this. A couple years ago, Jimmy Kimmel inducted TV icon Ted Danson into his Handsome Men's Club, but during an appearance on Kimmel's show last night, Danson resigned from the organization. Apparently, he was unaware that Will Ferrell and Ryan Gosling use his studio to host their home shopping show, Knife Guys, Wednesday nights at 11:30. Hopefully, these guys will all work something out by next week… if Will Ferrell doesn't bleed to death by then.
