Crackle Renews Jerry Seinfeld's 'Comedians in Cars' and Announces 'Joe Dirt 2' Cast

Sony's video site Crackle just shared two big updates at TCA. First, Jerry Seinfeld's hit web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has landed a sixth season order, though the guests have not yet been revealed. In other Crackle news, David Spade's 2001 comedy Joe Dirt will debut a sequel called Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser on the streaming platform this summer and include supporting cast Christopher Walken, Dennis Miller, Brittany Daniel, Mark McGrath, and Patrick Warburton. Former SNL head writer Fred Wolf, who wrote the original film, returned to direct and co-write the film with Spade.

'Joe Dirt 2' Is a Real Thing That Is Happening

Don't worry, the Joe Dirt franchise is still alive and breathing. Crackle, Sony's digital network and studio, announced today that they'll be producing a sequel to the 2001 David Spade movie. The first film only grossed $27 million, but Spade cited the movie's high DVD sales at Wal-Mart (seriously) when he first started talking about a sequel in 2006. The sequel didn't materialize and Spade sold a Joe Dirt animated series to TBS in 2010.
