Watch Joe Mande and Noah Garfinkel's Phonetically Accurate Music Video for Future's "Sheen"

Joe Mande and Noah Garfinkel are known for making some pretty great pop culture-focused videos for their live variety show Totally J/K, and their recent collaboration reimagining the lyrics to Future's song "Shit" is no exception. Be warned that there are some offensive lyrics here if you consider hoses, tacos, and honey bubbles to be offensive.

Talking to Joe Mande About His Standup Mixtape, Writing for 'Parks and Rec', and Buying a Million Twitter Followers

Joe Mande always seems one step ahead.

Whether it’s his Twitter stunts, multimedia shows, or stories about attending a live taping of The Mike Huckabee Show really high, the LA-based comedian and writer has a knack for getting out in front of trends.

It makes sense then that Mande’s latest project is a comedy mixtape he’s releasing in place of a traditional album, complete with DJ drops, comedy sketches, and cameos from Amy Poehler, A$AP Yams, Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate, Jon Daly, Roy Hibbert, and more. The mixtape, which drops today, is called Bitchface and it's being released on former Das Racist frontman Heem’s record [...]

Joe Mande Is Trying to Buy One Million Twitter Followers

Standup and Parks and Recreation writer Joe Mande is trying something new on Twitter: buying a million bot followers from questionable overseas companies. Yahoo has an interview with Mande in which he discusses this new project of his. Here's a bit from it:

It started with the fact that I had been stuck at 80,400 [followers] for months. And I realized that, at this point the number [of followers] you have on Twitter is the number you’re at. I don’t think a lot of new members are joining, nor do I think they are following as many people as they do when they first sign up. I was [...]

Watch Nick Kroll and John Mulaney Reprise Their "Oh, Hello" Characters for 'Kroll Show'

Here's a brand new clip from Nick Kroll's Comedy Central series Kroll Show in which he and SNL writer John Mulaney reprise their "Oh, Hello" characters, George St Geegland (Mulaney) and Gil Faizon (Kroll). Kroll and Mulaney created the characters, a pair of Alan Alda-obsessed, Upper West Side, middle-aged divorcees, whom they've  played onstage and in viral videos since 2008. In this clip, George and Gil are hosting a prank show called Too Much Tuna, pulling a fun joke on Gil's stepson Elon (played by Kroll Show writer Joe Mande). Kroll Show premieres next Wednesday at 10:30, but is it too soon to start hoping for an "Oh, [...]

The 7 Best DIY-ish Comedy Albums of 2014

This is a collection of the best comedy albums I heard this year that aren’t by like huge rich comics like Jim Gaffigan or Aziz Ansari. Not that there’s anything wroooong with that, just every end-of-the-year list kind of ends up being the same thing and leaving out a lot of good shit that people just made themselves and put online. So this is a bunch of albums like that. And this is by no means all of them, just a few that I happened to find and like. God bless, and enjoy.

Watch Joe Mande Do Standup on 'Late Night'

Parks and Rec and Kroll Show writer Joe Mande was the featured comic on last night's Late Night. In his set, Mande covers everything from Kendrick Lamar's obsession with crowd energy to the ungodly strength of west coast weed to his time as an intern at The Maury Povich Show, where he fielded calls from lots of women hoping for a maternity test.

Mande, who has also written for Kroll Show, NTSF:SD:SUV, and Delocated, released his first standup special, a Comedy Central Half-Hour, in 2012.

Here's Greedhead founder Himanshu "Heems" Suri talking to Stereogum about the project:

Comics often do put out their standup [...]

He's posted a Kickstarter campaign called The Million Dollar Podcast, promising that if people pay him a million dollars, he will start hosting a weekly podcast where he interviews "comedians and musicians and shit like that."

The bare-bones Kickstarter page is not up and running yet, currently under review by the crowdfunding site before it becomes operational. Mande has promised that for backers who donate $1,000, he'll "mention your name on the podcast or something who cares." Mande, who tried to buy a million Twitter followers last year and [...]

Joe Mande Did the First-Ever Reddit Ask Me Nothing

While promoting his new standup mixtape Bitchface, comedian and Parks and Rec writer Joe Mande went on Reddit, and instead of doing an "Ask Me Anything," he did an "Ask Me Nothing" where he encouraged people to not ask questions and refused to answer questions if he got them.

Check out a collection of the best non-responses below:

Joe Mande, Noah Garfinkel, and Pete Holmes Talked About Things Not To Do While High

Writers and hosts of the much beloved show Totally J/K Joe Mande and Noah Garfinkel stopped by The Pete Holmes Show last night, and they mostly just talked about things that are unwise to do while under the influence of marijuana. So far, the list includes making popcorn while watching Nickelodeon and going to TV taping at Fox News, but surely it's just the beginning.

A Funny Thing: Joe Mande Loses His Religion and a Whole Lot More

Our story this week: Ambivalent Jew, Joe Mande (Kroll Show, Parks and Rec, Best Week Ever) was looking for God in all the wrong places, including a "test passover." But a confrontation and plea for help from  another Jewish man in need leads Joe to wager all his belief and most of his money on one act of blind trust. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go buy matzoh for my wife.

You've seen Joe Mande on Conan, Comedy Central ,and  VH1's Best Week Ever. He's a writer for Parks and Recreation and the excellent Kroll Show (Wednesdays at 10:30 on Comedy Central). Follow him on [...]
