So You Want to Accuse Someone of Stealing Your Joke

Earlier this week, a Cleveland sketch group accused Conan O'Brien of stealing a routine of theirs for his show. Upon examination of their claims, it was pretty clear that the accusation was baseless for a number of reasons. This sure made them look bad! This sketch group I had never heard of before is now known in my mind as a group that accuses people of plagiarism in order to get attention, which is a shitty thing to be known for.

Wayans Brothers Sued by a Former Assistant for Joke Theft

The Wayans brothers recently wrote a book called You Know You're a Golddigger When…. Apparently, an assistant of theirs named Jared Edwards pitched them pretty much the same book, which they turned down and then proceeded to do themselves. Now he's suing them. Oh, Wayans brothers.

Fox News Accuses Jay Leno of Stealing a Joke and Yes I Am Serious

OK, so here's what happened: some dude on Fox News's Red Eye by the name of Andy Levy made this joke on May 24th: "Supreme Court orders tens of thousands of California prisoners released. This actually may help the Raiders start selling out their home games again." Because Raiders fans are criminals, you see.

Then, on May 26th, Jay Leno made this joke on The Tonight Show: "Bad news for the state of California. The Supreme Court will force the state to release something like 46,000 convicts because of prison overcrowding.
