'SNL' Review: Seth Rogen Half-Baked

While watching Seth Rogen host SNL for the third time last weekend, I was reminded of two other three-peat hosts from earlier this season: Paul Rudd in December and Jonah Hill in January. Rudd's episode felt like extended promo for Anchorman 2, with the host failing to capture that lightning in the bottle with cast members that made his previous stints so memorable. Hill, however, seemed to enjoy himself every bit as much as he did his first two appearances.

Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Jonah Hill are, of course, hugely successful alumni from Team Judd Apatow, but their careers have taken diverging trajectories. Rogen and Rudd have [...]

'SNL' Review: Jonah Hill's Award-Worthy Performance

Anytime I begin to think Jonah Hill might be overrated, I only need watch him host SNL. Yes, it's still pretty weird to think that the guy from Superbad has spent the last few years scoring Oscar nominations and hanging out with Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Martin Scorcese. And it's easy to say the industry might be a little too infatuated with a comedy star who can surprise with a nuanced performance in a movie academy voters actually care about.

But then Jonah Hill comes back to host SNL, and suddenly it makes sense. Not only is the guy the real deal — he seems like a delight [...]

Here's the Trailer for '22 Jump Street'

22 Jump Street, the sequel to last year's 21 Jump Street reboot, is due out next summer, and this trailer for it just dropped. The movie brings back original stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, as well as directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and supporting cast members Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Rob Riggle, and Dave Franco.

'21 Jump Street 2' Set for a 2014 Release

Sony began prepping the sequel to 21 Jump Street before the first movie even hit theaters, and now, the studio has announced that 21 Jump Street 2 will be out in 2014. Sony revealed the info at CinemaCon yesterday with a logo for the sequel being included as part of the studio's 2014 slate. No specific date has been set for a release at this time, just the year. The original movie's writers, Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, are also writing the new one, with Hill and Channing Tatum are expected to return as stars. 21 Jump Street's ending set up a sequel where the two main characters [...]

'The Watch' Wasn't Watched this Weekend

The Watch earned only $13 million this weekend, which is frankly pretty damn bad. It's exactly the same amount as what That's My Boy disappointedly earned its opening weekend. The Olympics might've hurt it a little but apparently it was tracking poorly as is. There just was no buzz surrounding the film. It probably didn't help that only three months ago the movie ending up changing its title out of respect to Trayvon Martin. However, ultimately, this movie had three of the type of stars that should be able to open a movie and none of them were able to woo America. Especially since by all accounts [...]

Jonah Hill Joins Jimmy Fallon for #Hashtag2

Just when you thought that #Hashtag was a one-off Timberlake/Fallon Late Night collaboration, Jonah Hill comes along with his new best friend Martin Scorsese to deliver a second installment. It's full of dated tunes and references that show the guys' inevitable aging, though it does take a calmer, wiser man to fully appreciate a good came of pattycake.

Jonah Hill Drops Some F-Bombs in These 'SNL' Promos

Jonah Hill is hosting SNL for a third time this week, so he and Taran Killam teamed up for a round of promos that include charm bracelet show-and-tell, tongue autographs, Oscar congratulations, and an opportunity for Hill to get all the bad words out of his system ahead of time.

Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, and More to Roast James Franco

Comedy Central announced the first batch of comedians who will be performing at the network's upcoming roast of James Franco. Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Nick Kroll, Natasha Leggero, Jeff Ross, and Sarah Silverman are the first names announced, although additional roasters will be added shortly. It was previously announced that Seth Rogen will be the roastmaster for the event, which is drawing a lot of bigger names than Comedy Central's roasts usually do because this one has an Oscar-nominated actor at its center. The roast is set to film August 25 and will air September 2 at 10pm.

Here's the New Trailer for Seth Rogen and James Franco's 'This Is the End'

Yesterday, Seth Rogen and company released a fake trailer for Pineapple Express 2 as an April Fool's Day gag, which ended up being a piece of actual promotion for their new apocalypse comedy This Is the End. Now, they've released an actual new trailer for This Is the End, a movie that Rogen co-wrote/co-directed that stars him, Jonah Hill, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson as themselves. Beware, the trailer's jam-packed with spoilers, revealing some major character deaths and other stuff too.

'21 Jump Street' to Start Heading Down Sequel Street this Fall

Sony has announced they're planning on shooting a sequel to 21 Jump Street (possibly titled "22 Jump Street: We Moved!") this fall. Jonah Hill will be back starring and co-writing the script with Michael Bacall. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will likely be back as well. Channing Tatum should be back but he's still an uncertainty because every time he leaves his house 200 women claw at his abs and squeeze his buns until he runs back inside.

Jonah Hill, James Franco, and Kristen Wiig Voice Characters in Seth Rogen's R-Rated Animated Sausage Movie

Taking a more literal turn with their knack for making bro-centric movies, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are now making an R-rated animated movie called Sausage Party, The Wrap reports. The film — written by Rogen and Goldberg with This Is The End producers Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir — follows "one heroic piece of meat's quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, the sausage protagonist teams up with some new friends to embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket and return to their aisle before the Fourth of July sale." This Is The End's Rogen, James Franco, Jonah [...]

Jonah Hill to Host 'SNL' January 25th

Jonah Hill is set to host Saturday Night Live for the third time on January 25th, the show announced today via Twitter. His musical guest will be the UK band Bastille. Hill, who just starred in The Wolf of Wall Street, will next be seen in the sequel 22 Jump Street, which is due out this summer. He previously hosted SNL in 2008 and 2012. As previously announced, the next new episode of the show will air on January 18th, when Drake serves as both host and musical guest.

The '21 Jump Street' Sequel Will Be Called '22 Jump Street'

Following in the tradition of sequel titles like Ocean's Twelve and The Whole Ten Yards, Sony announced in a press release yesterday that the follow-up to 21 Jump Street will be called 22 Jump Street. The previous movie, a remake of the '80s show of the same name, came out last spring and earned good reviews and a ton of money at the box office, a rare feat for a big-budget studio comedy these days. Sony began developing the sequel to 21 Jump Street last year, before the first movie even hit theaters. It was previously announced that Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube will be returning [...]
