Please help spread the word about this video so that more people see it.

'MacGruber 2' Might Be Happening!

Considering its subject matter and the fact that it earned less than $9 million domestically, it was really easy to make jokes about MacGruber bombing. However, ever since, the film has been developing quite the cult following, especially in the comedy community, because it's so gosh darn hilarious. Which is why the idea of a possible sequel is particularly exciting. Director Jorma Taccone told Screen Crush:

It would be me, Will and John [Solomon] writing it again. Every time I hang out with Will, we talk about all our cool ideas for the sequel. We have the idea for it and we have a title, but I won’t tell you [...]

The Lonely Island Has Big Stuff That Works Super-Good

Despite the plethora of songs like "Jizz In My Pants," "I Had Sex" and "We're Back!" that suggest otherwise, the Lonely Island A.V. Club interview maintains the party line that its three members are great at sex, they do it all the time and their stuff is big and works super-good. Also working super-good is their relationship with Lorne Michaels, who they haven't had to pitch to in four years. "We pitched to him a few times, and he’s like, 'Uh, okay…' and when it turned out that people liked them, he’s like, 'You know what? Just don’t tell me, ’cause I’d rather just see it in [...]

A Video Guide to The Lonely Island’s Pre-'SNL' Years

To someone who wasn’t paying attention to web comedy in the early 2000s (and before YouTube and Funny or Die, who could blame you?), it may seem like The Lonely Island, the comedy conglomerate made up of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, came out of nowhere when they were snatched up by Saturday Night Live in 2005. Despite the trio’s seemingly-fast rise to fame, they were far from an overnight success.

Samberg, Schaffer, and Taccone all met while attending junior high together in Berkeley, California in the late 80s. Samberg was a year younger than Schaffer and Taccone, but the three soon became a part of [...]

Jorma Taccone to Direct the Film Adaptation of the Graphic Novel The Great Unknown

SNL/The Lonely Island's Jorma Taccone has been tapped to direct The Great Unknown, an adaptation of the graphic novel by Duncan Rouleau. It'll be his second time directing a movie, after the underperforming MacGruber. Here's what to expect in terms of the plot: The comic centers on a slacker with delusions of grandeur who believes his so-called great ideas are popping up elsewhere. After failing to convince his friends and family that his mind is being pilfered, he goes on a quest to solve the mystery behind the idea thefts.

The movie will be an action comedy, while the comic is billed as a "lowfi-scifi," which sounds [...]

Lonely Island's Turtleneck & Chains Keeps It Sweet

When they aren't pushing rival comedians down the stars Showgirls-style or coaching more monster voice out of Nicki Minaj ("She would go in there and make it all grimy and awesome," Jorma Taccone recalls ), the gang is keeping it nice on Lonely Island's Turtleneck & Chains album, due out May 10. "We’ve always subscribed to comedy that, when at all possible, isn’t making fun of other people. So the alternative to that is making fun of ourselves. At least we’re in control of that," says Andy Samberg.

And is there anything sweeter than the dulcet voice of one Mr. Michael Bolton, who provided guest vocals on the [...]

The New Lonely Island Album Has Cover Art and a Bunch of Guest Stars

The Lonely Island's new record, The Wack Album, is set for a June 11th release, and The Dudes released the cover art and a partial list of guest stars via their website yesterday. The album will include new songs featuring Pharrell Williams, T-Pain, Billie Joe Armstrong, Solange, and other people. Also appearing are Adam Levine, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga, who collaborated with The Lonely Island on their songs "YOLO" and "3-Way (The Golden Rule)," which debuted on SNL already but will be featured on the album. "Spring Break Anthem," a new song they unveiled in a web video today, will also presumably be included on the [...]

The Lonely Island Is Releasing 'The Wack Album' June 11th

The Lonely Island announced this weekend that their third album, which is called The Wack Album, will be released on June 11th. The musical comedy trio – made up of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer – released this collective statement in a press release: "We’re decidedly pumped to share another collection of our fake raps with the world. We’ve heard the whole thing and there’s no denying, it exists." Their first album since 2011's Turtleneck & Chain, The Wack Album's title track is "YOLO," which they debuted as an SNL digital short featuring Kendrick Lamar and Adam Levine in January. The Dudes are doing their first-ever live show in conjunction with [...]

Andy Samberg on Jorma Taccone's Performance on 'Girls': "What!!?"

This interview mostly focuses on Celeste and Jesse Forever but fast-forward to the 3:11 point… FUN! Imagine you had a friend and you were friends with said friend since you were 12 and then you heard your friend say: "I want you to know, the first time I fuck you, I might scare you a little, because I’m a man, and I know how to do things," how would you react? Yes, exactly like Andy did. There are probably people out there that talk that way to people that look like Allison Williams but those people don't also make songs called "Jizz In My Pants."

Jorma Taccone Guests as Maya Rudolph's Ex on Up All Night

Time to dip into the Lonely Island costume box! So many boxy blazers, so much pale denim. Reportedly Jorma Taccone will guest on Up All Night this fall as Maya Rudolph's ex-boyfriend. "You're going to see flashbacks of them from the '90s," show creator Emily Spivey explains, the idea of which instantly transports me back to SNL, circa 2000. Says Spivey, "They have a little song together and everything, and a music video." So like Oprah and Stedman should have done…like Oprah and Stedman could still do.
