The Best of 'SNL' Season 38

It snuck up on us, didn't it? The end of SNL Season 38 brought along with it key staff changes, among them the upcoming departure of head writer Seth Meyers and the immediate departures of cast members Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and (unofficially) Jason Sudeikis. Few people have shaped SNL over the past 8 years more than these men — Meyers with his leadership in the writers room and charm as Weekend Update host, and Hader, Armisen and Sudeikis as the cast's workhorses and loadbearing performers. Indeed, many pegged Season 38 as a "transitional year" in the wake of Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg leaving the show a year ago, [...]

Justin Bieber and Kenan Thompson Promo 'SNL's Valentine's Day Show

Justin Bieber is pulling double duty this weekend as SNL's host and musical guest, and here's your first glimpse of what he'll be bringing to the show: puns about his weird last name, wacky handshakes, and funny bulgy-eyeballs glasses.

It's That Episode 9: Chris Kelly/'CSI' – Targets of Obsession

On "It's That Episode," Craig Rowin (UCB Theatre) invites guests over to his apartment to watch any episode of any TV show they want. They discuss the episode and a bunch of other crap. Episodes are released every Monday.

Craig and Chris Kelly (Saturday Night Live, Onion News Network) watch the episode of CSI where Justin Bieber guest stars and gets shot by police a million times. Chris and Craig discuss how thirsty Justin Bieber was on set, guess why the hell Bieber was on this show, and get super duper bored talking about CSI.

The Justin Bieber/Ashton Kutcher Time-Travel Buddy Comedy Rumor Of The Day

The idea of the Justin Bieber and Ashton buddy comedy What Would Kenny Do?, starring Kutcher as a time-traveling hologram of Bieber's older self, might not necessarily make us want to scamper to Fandango. The fact that the original script was reportedly filled with R-rated material, however, does. We're hoping Kutcher journeys through the time-space continuum to warn Bieber away from a life of contract killing and/or meth labbery. But you know it's just going to be about some girl or something.

Justin Bieber Takes Over For Jon Stewart, Briefly

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Mon – Thurs 11p / 10c The Daily Show on Facebook

The Bieber kicked off last night's Daily Show in a strange Freaky Friday bit that was done to promote his new movie about how much rich life experience he's had in his 16 years on Earth. I'm sure there are literally tens and tens of crossover fans of both Bieber and The Daily Show, so it really was a perfect marketing opportunity.

'SNL' Review: Not A Belieber

It's not easy to reconcile my preferences for the alternative comedy scene that this site represents and my admiration for an eternally mainstream show like SNL. I want a lineup of weird, dark premises and sketches that establish clear games… and then intentionally subvert them. I want sketches to end with Mr. Show-like transitions, with a character leaving the room and walking onto a new set, where a new sketch begins, and throwaway jokes from earlier sketches to reappear later, like Kroll Show is doing. I want an episode where Nick Offerman hosts, Garfunkel and Oates is the musical guest, Danny Pudi sits silently in the background of every sketch, [...]

Justin Bieber Will Be 'SNL's Host and Musical Guest February 9th

Young person Justin Bieber has been hinting about hosting SNL on Twitter the past week, and now, Billboard has confirmed that he's set to be the host and musical guest for the show's Feburary 9th episode to promote his new acoustic album. This will be Bieber's second appearance on the show after serving as musical guest on an episode hosted by Tina Fey in 2010. He even appeared in a sketch in said episode, singing to Fey in a sketch where she played his schoolteacher (embedded below). Justin Bieber will be the third musician to host the show this season, which has been unusually saturated with [...]

Alec Baldwin Reveals That Jonah Hill And Justin Bieber Are Hosting SNL Soon

Lorne Michaels is the guest on Alec Baldwin’s Here The Thing podcast this week (which if you haven’t listened to yet, what are you doing reading this because it is exactly the type of thing you would like) and on it, Baldwin runs down a list of this season’s SNL guests and, intentionally or not, reveals two yet to be announced hosts: Jonah Hill and Justin Bieber.

Jonah Hill has hosted before, back in March 2008, but skinny Jonah Hill has not. Over/under three jokes about this?

But who cares about that old nerd anyway? The Biebs, who was the musical guest for the April 10th, 2010 show, [...]

Justin Bieber Made Jason Bateman Cry

Jason Bateman on Never Say Never: "About midway through the movie, I'm bawling like a little schoolgirl." And that's why you never go see the Justin Bieber documentary.

Justin Bieber's New Biopic Is Surprisingly Gritty

Here's the latest video from UCBcomedy.com, a trailer for a biopic of Justin Bieber and his real life story. If nothing else, the casting for Bieber himself is pretty inspired.

Justin Bieber Calls Lorne Michaels "Lauren" on Instagram

This weekend's SNL host Justin Bieber instagrammed this photo of himself and SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels prior to the show, but he made a pretty crazy mistake in the caption. Bieber wrote, "Watch me on snl tomorrow night thank u Lauren ur the man." So, either Justin Bieber is a sloppy speller or he legitimately thought Lorne Michaels's first name was "Lauren." I can't blame him; when I was 12, I briefly thought Lorne's name was "Lauren" too, but I would have double-checked if he ever asked me to host SNL. Also, unlike Bieber, I'm not from Canada, where I'm pretty sure Lorne Michaels is on [...]

Don't Worry, Dane Cook and Justin Bieber Are Both Working on New Network Sitcoms

Universally beloved media personalities Dane Cook and Justin Bieber are both developing new sitcoms for big TV networks, Deadline and TV Guide report. Cook doesn't have a show yet but he just signed a new development deal with NBC to make a series that will serve starring vehicle for himself. He recently starred in the comedy Next Caller, which was picked up for six episodes by NBC but unexpectedly canceled before it aired because the network was unhappy with the creative direction of the show. "Dane Cook is one of the most talented comedians working today," says NBC President Jennifer Salke. Justin Bieber's show is set [...]

Seth McFarlane Stops By Conan and Doesn't Try on Jeggings

Seth McFarlane was on Conan last night, where he reassured fans that his musings about ending Family Guy were just musings. He can't possibly end the show now, not when Justin Bieber's just starting to get into it! (It makes sense that Stewie and Justin Bieber are mutual admirers; they have a lot in common, both being babies with charming voices who are plotting to take over the world.)

Just so you know, at around 3:58 in this video it looks like Conan and Seth McFarlane might just say "what the hey" and try on some jeggings together. That doesn't happen. Manage your expectations.

Justin Bieber, the Perfect Foil to Neurotic, Self-Hating Comedians

Here's Rolling Stone on the Justin Bieber late night comedy guest appearance extravaganza of early 2011: "To be clear, there's nothing mean spirited about how SNL, Letterman or Stewart have used Bieber in their skits. The humor is not at his expense. If anything, these comedians are celebrating the singer's carefully cultivated image. Bieber is cute like a baby animal and unflappable like the coolest dude imaginable, and that combination makes him an ideal foil for neurotic comedians. "
